Thecus launches 1U4600 NAS Server with iSCSI and Dual DOM

Thecus has lots of storage solutions that it offers to consumers and business users. The last consumer focused NAS device we saw from Thecus was the N2200. Thecus is back today with a new NAS device that is aimed at businesses looking for a flexible NAS server that can be rack mounted called the 1U4600.

The 1U4600 is powered by an Intel Celeron processor to handle multiple clients accessing the NAS server at once and to increase data throughput. The device features a cloud computing application that allows one NAS device to act as a master system so admins can manage multiple devices at once. Three modes of operation include NAS, DAS, and iSCSI for flexibility.

Thecus uses a Dual DOM (disk on module) system to store the system software. If one DOM gets corrupted or damaged, the system switches to the backup for continued operation. Supported RAID modes include 0/1/5/6/10 and JBOD. A redundant 250W PSU is also available.
