As far as I've experienced on my iPhone, the photos I've edited in iPhoto have not been moved to "photos" unless I've chosen to export them to my photo roll. When I do export them to my photo roll, I can delete the original unedited photo. As far as I can see, it's not possible to delete the edited photo in iPhoto, but I'm not completely convinced that the photo is being stored twice on the device. Instead, "moving" it to "photos" may be instead a sort of link to the edited photo where it's being stored on the device. I need to investigate this more thoroughly, but I haven't seen my iPhone's paltry 16 gigs diminish since I've been using iPhoto. However, say that it DOES store the photo twice on the device. I have a hard time understanding how what seems like a failing of a brand new app indicates that the iPad itself is failing. One thing I have experienced with apple products is that updates may eventually eliminate issues with particular apps that initially annoy. I've worked with several tablets and I have yet to find another that offers the level of organization and editing my photographs. That's if you consider the more practical aspects instead of just the fact that browsing through photos on the new iPad looks amazing. And honestly, if anyone's interested in keeping 9 gigs of their photos on the iPad without ever moving them to their computer, I'd probably steer them toward a higher capacity device anyway.

I did have a chance to play today with the new ipad , and I do have a question. What i did is I went to iphoto and iphoto imported pictures from "PHOTOS" .I made one picture brighter since was to dark ( ipad have no flash) . That picture was not changed in "PHOTOS" . I went back to iPHOTO and the picture was brighter - like I want it. Then I delete that picture from (iPHOTO) , but the picture was not deleted in my "PHOTOS". So it looks like iPhoto imports pictures (COPY) and they stay in iphoto folder. I asked the guy in Apple store if iPhoto create a new folder. He told me YES .My "beef" with that is that if you got only 9GB of pictures, and they are copy to iPhoto folder - now you got 18GB of data on your ipad, and your 16GB ipad is to small for only 9GB of pictures (if you use iPhoto ) . If you fix the picture in iphoto it stay in iphoto. We could not find a way ( with apple guy ) to fix the original (with iPhoto ) and than delete pictures from iphoto. Question is - Is 64GB ipad good only for 32GB of storage ( since iphoto copy your picture files ) ? Can anyone answer this ? Take iOS plus apps, and 16GB ipad is good ( if true) for only 6-7 GB of storage. This would make the new 16GB ipad, the worst 9.7" tablet ( as far as storage ) on the market.Jack of all trades, but still - master of none.
