NEC LCD heart displayThe NEC has developed a way to make TFT LCD panels able to feature shapes besides the average square or rectangle. Which is nice for those that would enjoy something a bit cuter, like a sweet little heart shape.

They have begun manufacturing a technology that makes the TFT LCD panels a bit more flexible. For those that are a bit nauseated by the heart shape, try to focus on the fact that more shapes should become available.

The prototype measures 4cm wide with a height of 3.6cm, the pixel pitch is 174 micrometers or 146 pixels per inch. The NEC will be showing it off at the Society for Information Display next week in LA.
