The Internet wants Danny DeVito to voice the new Pikachu

On Tuesday, we were treated to a new look at our favorite electric-type Pokemon. Instead of running around with Ash as he tried to catch 'em all, he was solving mysteries. While that was a departure from the norm, that wasn't the strangest part of the video released by Nintendo.

Shortly after the video starts, we hear a voice, which I naturally assumed was simply narrating. After all, it was a very masculine voice that has never been associated with Pikachu. But about halfway through, our detective turns around to reveal that he is the one that's been speaking the whole time. After the initial shock wore off, the internet lit up with ideas about who should do the voice of this very different Pikachu.

I'm sure that you have your own ideas, but let me tell you, someone out there already pegged the perfect person. None other than Danny DeVito, of It's Always Sunny and Batman Returns (yes, those are the two roles I'll always associate him with). Check out the video below, it will surely convince you.

Currently there is a Change.org petition with nearly 23,000 signatures, asking Nintendo to make this happen. I'd say that realistically, there is almost no chance of this happening. But I would snatch this game up in a heartbeat, if it did.
