The Force Awakens Blu-ray release date leaked

If you have any interest in the movie, you've probably gone to see The Force Awakens by now. If you haven't, perhaps you're just waiting for it to release on Blu-ray. After all, theaters are expensive, and not everyone feels like sitting in a room full of strangers for a couple of hours. Disney still hasn't made any official announcements regarding the release date, but thanks to a certain bunny, we have a pretty good idea.

Personally, I always thought that Disney would time the Blu-ray release for May 4th, for obvious reasons. It's a good amount of time for the movie to play in theaters before the release, and you get to do something big for May the 4th. But it looks like they weren't willing to wait quite that long, according to a Duracell advertisement.

A guy by the name of Gary Mckenna was wandering through a Tesco supermarket in Northern Ireland when he saw a Duracell product stand, with the bunny holding a lightsaber. Curiously, the stand also showed the DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film, along with the release date of April 18th.

Since this is in Ireland, there is the possibility that this won't be the same release date for the rest of the world. However, it's a pretty safe bet that come the 18th of next month, we'll finally be able to take home the latest Star Wars movie.
