The trend with computers has always been twofold; smaller and faster. The one component that doesn’t seem to follow that pattern is the graphics card. They are getting much (much) faster, but at the same time they seem to be growing. Not only in size, but their hunger for power is growing too.

There’s always a big debate on who has the best and fastest GPU; ATI or Nvidia. Well, I can’t tell you who the winner is there, (though I have my opinions). I can however, tell you who has the biggest, and that would be ATI hands down. With the release of the R600 series they’re up to 12.4”.

Size isn’t the only thing they’ve beefed up, the XTX version is coming with 1GB of DDR4, and it consumes a whopping 270W of juice. For now, that’s all of the specs that we have, we’ll let you know when we get more details. In the meantime, you might want to buy a nice big case and a new power supply.
