Sinclair ZX81 – wow, you could have a computer in your home…
IBM PS/2 – a computer you could actually do useful work with. And send messages to people far away with that new-fangled internet-thingy, now ain’t that cool? Strictly geeks-only, though.
Mosaic – and suddenly the internet was for everybody.
Blu-ray player – what on earth took them so long?
Smartphone – just compare this to the kind of computing power they flew to the moon with…

The High tech stuff that has impacted my life are integrated circuits and the Televisions and Computers
and the stuff you can hook up to a computer that will get a person to the Internet information highway
wow it’s been a fantastic ride and People must realize that today s high end smart phones are actually handheld computers used for Communication and Entertainment because they have a great deal of technology that a Desktop or Laptop computers has which are 5 or more times bigger in physical size.

As far as tech. and not the product’s created from them, I would have to say the reduction of solid state electronics from transistors to today’s SOC devices. I’m old enough to remember the transition from tubes and the product’s that came from them, today’s devices were future shock dreams of designers using that old tube tech. It was very limiting in what was possible and what was not, I’m living yesterday’s future shock!!

Brings back memory, our family computer was a GoldStar computer powered by 8086. I remember the power switch on the right side where it gives me electric shocks everytime I power it on (and takes down our house breaker if we forgot to use power stabilizer). The good old days! I do missed the sound of 5 1/4 Low density disk sound when it loads DOS lol
