Go follow Tom Anderson on Google+ for a while. Actually listen to what the man has to say about technology and social interactions. The guy is freaking brilliant. You are talking about this at such a shallow level. But that’s ok, we all have to start somewhere. I also suggest reading some interviews with Matias Duarte while your at it. I love his interface design philosophies.

Right… because you reallyhave 453 friends… it is social, but you rarely see them IR socialize with them… F is everyone wanting to be the center of attention and getting more exposure… why does everyone need/want this? Taking pictures of yourself just proves the point…

The goal is(should be) to allow you to do what you are doing now with facebook but in a more seamless way with less taps, swipes and interruptions. Imagine a social integration experience so well done on your phone, you don’t need the app or widget. Everything you need in terms of social interaction is right there in front of you when you need it no matter what else you are doing so your workflow isn’t broken up with harsh transitions.

are people really that lazy that they don’t want to press the ‘facebook app’
or why not just make a facebook widget….
i bet they have too much money and don’t know what to do with it all
so here’s an idea… you could just give me the money and i’ll put it to better use
