It’s so funny to read the comments people leave arguing between iOS and Android. I have an iPhone 5 and a Nexus 10. I love both! Android is excellent in tablet form but I found it to be a bit overwhelming in a phone. I like to play with my little brother’s Galaxy S3 but I like my iPhone much better. However, I chose a Nexus for my tablet. It really does come down to preference. In all honesty, my favorite OS was Blackberry way back in ’06 (don’t judge, lol).

I can type extremely fast on my iPhone’s onscreen keyboard. I don’t care about benchmarks because my phone is plenty fast for everything I use it for. I’m a hardcore user too, but I don’t expect you to believe that.

Samsung, no purple haze in photo problem, doesn’t come from the factory with scratches, doesn’t scratch as easy as iPhone 5, has no light leaking out from the side due to bad manufacturing, maps is excellent unlike apple maps, has no battery or data problems like iPhone, has no yellow tint on screen like iPhone 5, has no wifi problems and the Samsung keyboard does not come with a flicker like the iPhone 5. IPhones used to exude quality and they are beautiful, but sorry, this one is not up to par. Look past your rose coloured glasses and you will have to admit, they should of done better. I don’t defend my phone to the death and will quite happily tell you its sort comings, after all, they are just a product, and as such, they all have faults. There is no perfect phone and there never will be. They all come with faults and the manufacturer will try limit the faults the best they can, but the iPhone 5 is sloppy, especially considering its Apple that rants on all the time about its products being perfect

I have a T-Mobile MyTouch 4g. About a year into owning it, I wasn’t thinking on a long car trip in the summer and left it on my dash in the sun as it gave directions. The next week when back at home I noticed that the battery life was no longer like it had been. I popped the back off and the battery was bloated from the heat when it had been on my dash. This was easily fixed buy buying a new $20 battery from amazon. I would have ad to send an iPhone in to have the battery replaced. I get 9 hours of streaming high quality pandora over wifi at work and after the total of a 1 hour commute (~30 minutes each way), I get home with 35% battery. If I stop at the gym before coming home, and stream some more pandora for an hour over 4G I might be down around 20%.

does apple let you change the keyboard on iOS? Have you used swype or swiftkey? I’ll admit that the stock keyboard isn’t all that good on android, but at least it is easy to replace.

(all of this typed on my linux computer, using my apple blue-tooth keyboard. So yes i do own a small amount of apple hardware).

I have both and never really drop any. I guess it depend on your personality. If you often drop something then use the plastic or aluminium ones. If you like the glass feel in your hand then go to iphone 4/4s. I am not from samsung so I don’t know whether they do it out of cheapness or as you said. i just hope their price can be much cheaper than current one as it’s only plastic with less engineering difficulties. Currently Samsung is try to put their product to be as chic as apply in apple fans eyes so the price increases and increases.

It’s very dificult for human to be objective when they have their own prefference, even the comments are all biased either to Android or iOS. I myself now in the middle, have both iphone snad Samsung . Now considering which one should be my primary phone lol.

I must say I am dissapointed by Samsung now as a company as they really take this chance to take all the profit. Purchased GS3 when it’s still expensive then the price dropped so much only in 2 month. Then Note 2 come, GS3 mini come.

Samsung, sony, LG Also have factory in China. Speaking of which, you may want to try Xiaomi smartphone by Foxconn that combine the best of apple hardware and samsung hardware. It’s easy for them as Foxconn produce iphone and samsung phones. Just like samsung provided parts for apple make it very easy to produce similar phones in the beginning.

YEAH, JUST LIKE iPhone geeks NEVER have problems (antennagate anyone?) with their beloved Apple devices. And, silly me, I seem to no notice that there have been SIX iterations in FIVE years of the iPhone! What’s up with that? Greed? The non-existent problems that Apple ALWAYS denies, and ALWAYS blames on the consumer? I also seem to notice that iPhone screens SHATTER awfully easy, why else do people scramble to get a case as soon as they buy one? I have a Motorola Droid 1, yes, it’s long in the tooth, but it works just fine, that’s been dropped numerous times. There’s not one scratch on the screen, much less breakage. The METAL case is scuffed, but the phone functions like the day I received it four years ago. I’m getting ready to get a new phone, because I would like to have the newer Android OS, and I will most likely get the Galaxy S III.

Thanks, but no thanks! I’ll stick with superior Android, with apps that aren’t restricted, dictated by some corporation, and works better than ios. I still use an original Droid 1. Tough, reliable, and trouble free. Works well, does what I need it to, has removable memory, and removable battery. I’ve changed the battery, myself, took ten seconds, once in four years. Cost me all of $3.50 . You can’t look at anything Apple for that! Get over yourselves Apple fanboys. Apple is a shiny, overrated, over hyped, grossly overpriced line of products. All of their products are made of the exact same components, on the same production lines, in the same manufacturing facilities in China as the major electronics companies are. The only difference in a Mac, and any other PC is cosmetics, and OS. And, I couldn’t care less how thin a Mac is, that just makes it impossible to repair, or upgrade, and battery has to be replaced by Apple’s “Geniuses” at a ridiculous cost! Those useless iPads are nothing but fancy, grossly overpriced, electronic entertainment machines, and toys. If, I were to buy a tablet, which I never will, it most certainly would not be Apple, it would most certainly be Android, or Windows. And, iPhones are shiny, status symbol, overpriced PHONES! i own a galaxy note and an iPhone 4s.. i am using my 4s more often.. i really just like the screen quality of apple products.., i borrowed an S3 from a friend to see if i will like it, it is just huge for a phone and it is made of plastic.. i’m still keeping my galaxy note coz i like its color which is berry pink.., but functionality, iPhone is much greater.. i am getting the iPhone 5 soon and it will be my new work phone.

same boat. i ahve a GS3 and now iPhone 5. overall, the iPhone 5 is much friendlier to access for casual smartphone needs – browsing, calls, and apps. the suoer large clock on hthe GS3 + the time stamp on tne GS3′s top right corner is a waste of eeal estate and I have constantly flip through screen oages to do simple tasks.
once settled in, web browsing on the GS3 is nicer because of the 4.8″ screen. That being said ESPN videos do not play in the GS3 and CBS SPORTS crashes the android browser 100% of the time. While I appreciate the GS3′s merits, the iPhone 5 is simply much more refined. I have navigation in my car so I have not felt the pinch for maps yet

The information I provided is a very easy google search away i fail to find where you got this information for your retort- which is a synonym for reply (just in case grade 6 english didn’t teach you that). I would also like to ask you why since the iphone 5 release Apples stock has dropped from $700 to as low as $600 (yesterdays close). That’s around a 15% decrease… That is pretty size-able. Now comes the REALLY funny part… You are so intent on arguing how the iPhone 5 is better than the s3 that you forgot that I didn’t even argue about that. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Perhaps reading wasn’t your strong suit in school. I don’t care if the iPhone 5 is better, in-fact i think one of the biggest things (build quality) is alot better on the iPhone. @CA You seem to “talk” alot don’t you kid? Infact I don’t recall anyone talking so much evidence-lacking, biased & self-motivated garbage on the web.
Yeah that’s right! Everything you’ve posted has little to no evidence. You also have an overwhelming bias against Android and the GS3 in general with the structure and use of insultive words. I’ve yet to see anyone else having to resort to slang terms to get there points across, why do you? You mad?
That being said I shall move on to the “GS3/Android vs iPhone/Apple” debate & tighten a few lose ends as your logic is embarassing.

You seem very confident that the IP5 is faster then the GS3. PLEASE! be a little more specific as that can be interpreted in many different ways.
The IP5 has a faster GPU simply because the GS3 has an older chip in the Mali although it has been OC’d. In simple terms the IP5 performs better in Egypt/Browser benchmarks and they’re pretty much the same on SunSpider with the new JB update for GS3. GS3 also destroys the IP5 at the GeekBench (Source GSMarena). The JB update means the S3 has a faster/more responsive UI thanks to the higher Frame rates in simple terms means the GS3 is as fast with regards to fluidity in it’s UI/GPU efficiency. The IP5 had an extra 1/2 year to pump its GPU performance up AND the GS3 is using an old chipset. Despite this however the IP5 is only slightly ahead in terms of GPU.
But here is where the fun begins. The IP5 may perform better in it’s GPU but it gets dragged apart, flattened & tossed aside in CPU performance.
The IP5 has a Dualcore 1.2GHz comp’ to the GS3 QuadCore Exynos 1.4GHz.
In other words the GS3 has more cores which are clocked higher then the IP5.
Just to wipe the dust the GS3 has FAR more processing power and it hands down beats the the IP5 in benchmarks not related to GPU but emphasising on CPU performances. In CPU & raw speed the IP5 is not even in the debate as it gets swept aside by most of the famous Quad phones.
And just to clarify when checking your benchmarks/reviews/pizza’s don’t assume that one website is telling the whole story and look at a more reliable source.
IP5 has better build/design etc – Just for the record the IP5 is widely known for it’s own insecurities as in it can get damaged EASILY over-time. And MOST high end users will have a case on their phone so that essentially nulifies that. Looks like you’ll have to find another loop hole to get one over the GS3.
You seem to forget the GS3 destroys the IP5 in another million ways other then it’s superior CPU.
I’ll kindly remind you of “some” as I don’t have the time or motivation to write an essay that is any longer.
- GS3 has a removable/upgradable battery.
- NFC DLNA connectivity
- SD Slot
- Larger screen and true HD res’ unlike the IP5
- Direct call/Smart Alert/Smart Talk etc etc etc etc
- Better Map App with G-Street View
- MicroUSB host/Mass Storage accessibility
- Pop Up Play Video player
- Superior Loudspeaker performance in DB for Ringing/Voice and slightly in Pink.
- Widgets/Live Wallpapers and more customisable OS
- Tilt2Zoom/PanToMove/TurnOver2Move//DoubleTapToTop
- Haptic Feedback
- MultiApp Store
- Multiple Security based lock screens like facelock.
- And so on on on…

Yeah it’s pretty fascinating yet humiliating for you at the same time that how far ahead the GS3 is of the IP5 which is still a great phone don’t get me wrong. I’d rather avoid humiliating anyone be that an Apple fanatic or not. But if you troll and create false garbage then be prepared to get smashed just like I’ve done to you right now. CA are you able to comprehend some statistics? Take a gander at Q2 market share results for mobile phones (as q3 and q4 aren’t released yet). You will see Samsung has 21 percent and iPhone has 6.9… If you think this has changed due to the iPhone 5 release then you should also read up on sales volumes for s3 vs iPhone 5 (these are the flagships released since q2), Samsung sold 20 million units in 100 days which was just shy of the expectation for iPhone 5 sales in the same time frame. Is this enough to change the market share significantly? no. Apple stopped innovating because they decided to sit in court rooms and it has cost them a great deal. Why are you so intent on puffing this company up to more than it is? Either way I’m done with this war between two operating systems (android and ios) that are almost the same, the only differences are that one is open sourced and the other is locked up… I’m jumping ship to try something new. I don’t know about everyone else but its been half a decade and i feel like I’m still using the first gen iPod touch.. Everything is so freaking boring that comes out. That’s why I’m grabbing the Nokia 920 in hopes that WM8 will be a breath of fresh air, even if it’s functionality isn’t 100 percent that of android or ios. Sometimes its nice to sit in a different chair, instead of sitting in the same one and convincing yourself its the best chair. – little metaphor lol.
