I wonder what it must be like to be so freaking entitled that the holiday season to you is really just one long preparation for what you see as Awards Day when it’s not about being with your family and being happy that they, out of the simple goodness of their hearts, decided to get you something, but about giving other people a pittance while expecting the long-awaited MASTER PRESENT! that you so totally deserve just by virtue of existing.

There was an adult man who once said to others accusing him of being a lazy mooch on his parents: They are happy to do this for me just because they are grateful for my presence.

That man is what all those disgusting little brats will turn into. At least they will if their parents to hit them hard enough to knock the stupid out of their skulls and return everything they’ve ever given them at all.

I am over 45 and have children. My backlash doesn’t fit your stereotyping does it.

As a parent i am disgusted with these posts and hope that I can raise my kids better although i know there is no guarantee. Especially when they have to deal with not only these kids but the parents who enable them.

These kids prove that even though it appears we have reached (peaked) the age of entitlements we have ain’t seen nuthin yet.

In our house chores only cover room and board. Earning means doing above and beyond. My 15 year old does dishes and trash, the 10 year old table and floors. My 5 year old living room and toy room (toys pickup and garbage bits.) Even the 2 year old scrapes his plate and puts it in the sink.

This is basic being a human shit… It blows my mind so many parents don’t demand even basic decency out of their children. It’s builds respect and character.. to deprive them of chores is to doom them to welfare and dependency.

if my kid asked for an iPhone, I would straight up tell them it won’t be happening. I might get you a phone, but don’t get your hopes up for a device I can’t afford myself right now. They might shock you and say “Nah… How about a 3ds and I’ll save for the iphone.”

I wouldn’t go “we’ll see” and then try to pawn off a free blackberry or android or worse env touch/feature phone.

These kids were tweeting to their friends.. sure, a lot of them spoiled brats.. but complaining is a teens favorite passtime.

Most of the backlash here comes from people who just barely have grown out of this stage or never had kids…

It’d be like asking for a Nintendo and getting a sega master system… And your dad insists “It’s the same damn thing.”

I apportion a lot of the blame on the parents themselves. Surely these people havent been raised with the correct moral standards in the first place? If you are taught compassion, grattitude for what you are lucky enough to have, then these actions wouldnt occur in the first place?? You have to feel sorry for them in the long run, because they dont stand a chance. they will be dislikable little pricks all their life. So will their chidren, after them.

Look at the bright side: like the Amish, it is unlikely that impoverished children in Africa have the devices (or electricity for that matter) to ever read the tweets in question from those self-indulged pricks because…well…they are impoverished children in Africa. So, yay! Their feelings have been spared.

Besides, their songs would probably be more like: “F#¢k you mom for not getting me that goat leg; but not you dad, because you’ve already died of AIDS.” But I doubt it. I’m fairly convinced that western civilization has most of the market cornered on douchebaggery.

I know a lot of those must have been copytweets, but still. The thought of people bitchin about that…especially for Christmas is very disappointing and sad.
Not only would I take everything away, I’d make them pay for any thing that they wanted in the future. Remember chores?
Well I got a sink load of dishes, you can do those by hand.
I got a can full of garbage that needs to go out and you can also take that to the curb.
Oh you need clothes, well congratulations, you can now do them yourselves.
Need a ride to the mall? Gas money first please, and you need to make an appointment, it’s my time after all.
I’m sorry if your floor is dirty then you know where the vacuum cleaner is.

Some kids and even adults are seriously spoiled and have either started to or are already rotten.
