I agree, the wording used was somewhat misleading, since he already had a pre-existing condition. Instead of blaming the game, maybe there’s a way to put responsibility back on the players?

Ah the wording of an article to make it more appealing. The writer of this article says, “There have been multiple reports over the years of gamers, mostly in Asian countries, suffering slipping away into death while at their computer screen because of online RPGs”…..the RPG didn’t kill him a blood clot did.

you should know that in internet cafes it’s really common to see addicted players sitting at a computer for like 12 hours straight.
simply because these places offer discounts if you reserve a computer for a certain amount of hours (usually more than 8~12 hrs), naturally, they would reserve the seat for many hours at once.
And often these players spend nights there, playing, eating, and obviously, sleeping.
you shouldn’t be surprised to see people sleeping right at the computer or the guest couch. It’d be AWKWARD if anyone tries to wake them up for no reason, because it’s what many others do, they sleep there.
you do realize what you might get trying to wake some stranger in the middle of their sleep — punches, or at least some curses..
