Microsoft have been attempting to keep the upcoming Zune HD's UI to themselves, but when you turn up with the PMP at an event full of camcorder-toting geeks you've got to expect some leakage.  Taking "no pictures" to not necessarily prescribe "no moving pictures", one enterprising fellow shot a demo video of the prototype Zune HD in action, which you can see after the cut.

Microsoft Zune HD gets hands-on: awesome screen, proficient PMP

After the prematurely-released Zune HD press images yesterday, CNET had the chance to go hands-on with the latest pre-production model, and the best news (for Microsoft at least) is that they reckon it's the best Zune yet.  Gaining particular praise are the 3.3-inch OLED display, which is crisp and bright, while the browser - though lacking Flash support - works just like that of the iPod touch when it comes to multitouch gestures.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 25 2009

We've been singularly cellularly obsessed here at SlashGear over the past seven days, and it'll come as no surprise that the run-up to the iPhone 3G S has occupied much of our attention.  The new Apple smartphone may not look much different to its predecessor, but if our hands-on first impressions are anything to go by, Cupertino have done their best to make the user-experience as polished as the casing.  Still, it's not just shiny Apple hardware that's caught our eye this week; Novatel Wireless' GSM MiFi 2352 piqued our interest when we talked to the company themselves on Monday, and  then proceeded to impress us considerably in our full review.

NVIDIA: WinCE is priority over Android for Smartbooks

Microsoft and NVIDIA are working together to optimize Windows CE for Tegra-based Smartbooks, with NVIDIA exec Mike Rayfield describing Android as having a "rough user interface".  Windows CE, meanwhile, has a "low memory footprint and a good collection of apps" and "is a rock-solid operating system that has been shipped billions of times" claimed the general manager for NVIDIA's mobile business unit.
