Something to ponder over at the most, debate about at the least. Let's face it, Apple has been known to put the reigns on things they don't think is necessary. You may agree with the giant's work ethic, and others may not, but in the end it seems to be working out for them one way or another. This may be one of those random things that doesn't amount to anything, but considering what "the Zune HD" can do, maybe it's time that Apple takes a look at the capabilities of their monster hit, and quit holding it back.

Zune HD preorders taken: arrives September 15th
Microsoft have officially announced the Zune HD for pre-orders, with the OLED touchscreen PMP set to land in pockets on September 15th. Given the numerous leaks over the past few days, it comes as no great surprise to hear that the Zune HD is priced at $219.99 for the 16GB model and $289.99 for the 32GB model. Your money gets you a 3.3-inch 16:9 480 x 272 display, NVIDIA Tegra chipset and - via an optional dock - 720p output for your HDTV.

Microsoft Xbox Might Be Heading Beyond the Console
The Xbox Live update went out today, which included a bit of a shocker in of itself, but something a bit more interesting has emerged from a Microsoft job posting, sent out yesterday. Zune HD pre-order product page hits Amazon
Amazon have launched a pre-launch product page and a pre-order page for the Zune HD, offering users the opportunity to sign up for Microsoft's upcoming PMP. While there is no release date mentioned on either Amazon page, and the pre-order links do not yet work, a Best Buy leak earlier in the week seemingly confirmed that Microsoft would be offering the two models - a 16GB and a 32GB version - with September 8th the date tipped for launch.

Zune HD browser and onscreen keyboard shown: Bing on board
After their hands-on earlier this month with the Zune HD, CNET are back with a second round of photos showing the OLED PMP's on-screen keyboard and browser. As you might expect, given the fact that the Zune HD's browser was developed by the Internet Explorer Mobile team, functionality is similar to what you'd find on a Windows Mobile device.
