Taking advantage of what should be the new bounce and energy brought about by the season, Yelp is introducing a bunch of new business categories to the service that you can use to get things going, from reserving a table, booking a a spa appointment, or even setting some time for a game of golf.

Yelp sues websites that promise businesses all positive reviews

As good Yelp reviews have the power to make or break a business, the website takes the ranking and filtering of user reviews very seriously, and does what it can to stop those from gaming the system. That's why Yelp has filed a civil suit against the individuals behind three sites that promise listed businesses to get them a large number of 4 and 5 star ratings from customers, as well as get them to stick to the front page. The sites targeted by the suit include Revleap, YelpDirector, and Revpley.

Google may have foodie social site named ‘Tablescape’ in the works

It’s either a brilliant idea, or a really misguided attempt at social — it’s hard to say right now. According to a new report, Google is once again making an attempt at social, and is focussing on hitting us where it matters. Tablescape is a new project by Google, and is taking a social look at food. Rather than a wide open forum as most social sites are, Tablescape would be entirely focussed on food, and people who photograph their food.
