Sony Nexus X mockup appears unlikely

What we're seeing this morning is a couple of photos that have appeared on Picasa with the name Sony Nexus X attached to them - dare we assume? Though quite likely an elaborate mock-up of what could be in the future, the notion of a Sony Nexus device is not new - back when the Xperia Play was released, it was revealed that it was a Nexus device before being turned down in favor of the Nexus S. It also plays well with the notion that Google's future Nexus releases will go with more than one manufacturer rather than just Samsung or HTC.

Sony Xperia T and J detailed with NFC “one-touch” [Updated with NFC clarity]

At IFA 2012 the folks at Sony have let it be known that they'll be keeping the Xperia brand name for some time to come, complete with a hero smartphone Xperia T. This device is one of three new devices including the Xperia J and Xperia S, each of them set to be released soon with a set of new Sony applications and NFC functionality that'll bring the company straight into the future of mobile computing. What's more, the T is set to take on the whole smartphone world with specifications that exceed the hero expectations.

Sony XPERIA Tablet S revealed with Tegra 3 and ICS

The folks at Sony have revealed a lovely new tablet that you might feel like you recognize at IFA 2012 - the XPERIA Tablet S. Quite similar in shape to the Tablet S from last year, this device has a folded-over magazine shape, 1,280 x 800 IPS display, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This device is bringing in a lovely IR transmitter so you can use it as a universal remote, and it'll have the awesome NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor under the hood as well.

Sony reveals XPERIA lineup with James Bond in tow

Four XPERIA devices were revealed this week by Sony in quick succession - an XPERIA Tablet S and three smartphone XPERIA V and J, with the hero T appearing in no less than Skyfall. This week Sony's IFA 2012 press conference began with Kazuo Hirai speaking on how Sony aims to "Inspire and Fulfill" consumers around the world - moving people emotionally as they do so. This event also had Sony's European President in attendance - with a broken leg, perfect for the phrase "break a leg" for good luck. Hirai continued speaking on how Sony would be working on pushing forward mobile and gaming - and the two together at once, as well.

Sony teases new Xperia phone with countdown

Looks like Sony isn’t done releasing new Xperia handsets this year. The company has pushed the Xperia S, Xperia P, and Xperia U out of the door, but a new teaser coupled with a countdown suggest that in 10 days time, we’ll be seeing a new Sony phone. It could be revealed even quicker, as users are encouraged to click on the “Fast Forward” button. The more that click, the more the announcement is moved forward.

Sony Xperia U Review

Sony pushed the Xperia S out of the door back in March, but the Xperia P and Xperia U have lagged behind a little in making it to market. Both of those devices are finally with us, and just like HTC, Sony seems to be banking on three phones hitting different price brackets to try and jump start its smartphone career. The Xperia U may be the cheapest in the NXT line, but it does have some solid specs: a dual-core 1Ghz processor, 854x480 3.5-inch screen, and five megapixel camera. How does it hold up?
