Xbox Live's "Major Nelson" (Larry Hryb) has posted two handy cheat sheets for the Xbox One's Kinect voice and gesture controls. The cheat sheets detail some of the more fundamental voice and gesture commands you can use at any one time, depending on the context of the task at hand. Xbox One boots in 17 seconds, among leaked revelations

The latest Xbox One revelations ahead of its official Nov. 22 release date come by way of Twitter user @Moonlightswami, whose early acquisition of a console was likely made possible through a mistake on the part of Target. Among @Moonlightswami's confirmed findings are a 17-second boot time, an initial 500MB software update, some very large game downloads in the Xbox Live Marketplace, and others. But he paid a price for sharing those findings via YouTube; more on that little drama later.

Steam users eclipse Xbox Live, PSN still far and away tops

This afternoon the folks at Valve have let it be known that they're rolling in with a cool 65 million users total for the Steam gaming network. This number can be compared to the most recent report from Sony on the PlayStation Network working with 110 million users and Microsoft reporting that they're in at 48 million users in Xbox Live. These numbers are not the same as "active users", a number which is much more difficult to grasp.

Grand Theft Auto Online updated to fix deleted cars and ugly characters

An update to Grand Theft Auto Online for both PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers should fix missing cars, mods that disappear, and an exploit which allowed the same vehicle to be sold multiple times, as developer Rockstar Games addresses the issues in the overwhelmed multiplayer title. The glitches were down to a cloud save failure, Rockstar Games said, while also pointing out that it had tweaked the algorithms in the character creator so that default "random" generations would be better looking. Meanwhile, there's also news for Xbox Live Games on Demand users.

This week the folks behind Xbox Live have re-launched their Xbox Live Rewards system with a new punchcard system and easy-to-use local payouts - and an expiration date. What you'll find in the details we've harvested here are three mentions of expiration dates - two for the cash you can get when trading in Rewards Credits, and another for the program itself. While these dates may not be entirely new for those of you that have used point systems like this before - or received a similar note to this effect earlier this year when Microsoft Points converted to cash - it's important that we make sure we're all on the same level.
