Microsoft promises a month’s free Xbox LIVE for Cloud Saved Games downtime

Microsoft has promised one-month of free Xbox LIVE Gold service to any gamers affected by the Cloud Saved Games system going offline, having finally fixed the issues that caused the unexpected downtime. The free service extension, which will be applied automatically to eligible gamers' accounts according to Microsoft's Major Nelson, will be tagged onto the end of current subscriptions. Leftover Halo 4 features found lurking in game code

We all know that a game changes very frequently during the development process - some features get fully implemented and make it to the finished product, while others are only partially developed and ultimately get left on the cutting room floor. It's no different with Halo 4, and today we're finding out that there were a couple particularly cool armor abilities 343 Industries had to do away with before shipping the game. Multiplayer mode confirmed for Tomb Raider reboot

Why 2012 was a great year for gaming

2012 was an interesting year in many respects, but it was a particularly interesting year for gaming. 2012 had its share of ups and down, but looking back on the year as a whole, I’d say that it was ultimately good for gamers, developers, and the industry in general. A lot happened throughout the year, and even though we saw vitriol from gamers climb to pretty frightening heights in some cases, there were some pretty cool things happening that you may not have noticed. Needless to say, if 2012 was any indication, then 2013 should be one of gaming’s biggest years yet.

Battlefield 3 End Game DLC first details revealed
