Now onto the SDK. Scott Forestell has taken the stage to discuss this part of the event. Apparently much of the iPhone code is similar to the desktop version of OS X. APIs include Cocoa Touch, Media Core Service and Core OS, the last of which is very similar to what is seen in OSX. They are particularly proud of the OpenGL implementation, and consider it to be “very fast.”

As you all know, we’ve got our very own Vincent on the inside at the 2008 WWDC show over in California. He’s one of 52,000 people in attendance today. Apparently Apple sold out the event rather quickly, and hasn’t been able to find anywhere larger to host the show. Perhaps it’s time for Apple to just build their own massive stadium.

The Apple store is down, the rumor mill has reached a point of crazed teeth-grinding and iPhone Buzz is registered and ready to cover the Steve Jobs keynote opening WWDC 2008.  Remember, when the show kicks off at 10AM San Francisco time we’ll be live blogging the whole event at http://live.iphonebuzz.com, but the chat has started early with Vincent showing off what gifts Apple is showering on bloggers and journalists.

There’s just a day to go until Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2008 kicks off in San Francisco, and of course we’ll be there Live Blogging the Steve Jobs keynote.  This year Apple have confirmed WWDC will be all about OS X for iPhone and OS X for Leopard, but the expectation is that Jobs will also announce the 3G iPhone during his opening keynote at 10AM.  Our live coverage will be at http://live.iphonebuzz.com/ with exclusive news and media from the event.

Apple has confirmed today that CEO Steve Jobs will open the 2008 Worldwide Developers Conference this coming June 9th, in a keynote address beginning at 10am in San Francisco. The company has also suggested that the focus of the five day event will be both OS X Leopard and OS X for iPhone; there has so far been no mention of the 3G iPhone, although considering Apple’s usual degrees of secrecy that’s not surprising. Instead, they’re publicising it as the first proper opportunity for developers to work alongside Apple’s own engineers in coding for the upcoming iPhone 2.0 software.

In what seems to be a landmark event, WWDC 2008 will be held on June 9th to 13th in San Francisco. How about this year’s slogan? It is “A landmark event. In more ways than one”. On WWDC 2008, Apple will be focusing on its latest cat, the Leopard and of course the recently announced iPhone SDK.
