It would appear that Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 processor line is making the rounds this year at IFA 2012, today appearing in both Samsung and Dell's Windows RT tablets. The first of these is the Samsung ATIV Tab 10-inch tablet (check out our hands-on experience) with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and an 8.9mm thin body. Then there's the Dell XPS 10 which we got eyes-on time with this week as well - complete with 10-inch multi-touch display and keyboard dock for converting the device into a notebook.

Dell XPS 10 tablet eyes-on
Dell is playing things coy with the XPS 10 tablet, keeping things behind glass for the most part, but we managed to coax the 10-inch slate out for some hands-off photography. Actually playing with the Windows RT tablet isn't an option here at its IFA launch, unfortunately, but we've at least seen how slick Dell's industrial design is for the metal slate.

Dell XPS 10 Windows RT tablet revealed with 20hr battery
Dell has joined the Windows RT tablet crowd, with the new Dell XPS 10 making its official debut at IFA today. A 10-inch slimline slate that - as we saw from Samsung yesterday - comes with a removable keyboard dock, the biggest selling point for the XPS 10 is likely to be its impressive battery claims: Dell says it'll run for 20hrs on a single charge.

Samsung IFA 2012 Wrap-Up
We had a busy day at IFA 2012, thanks in no small part to Samsung, which had a ton of announcements for its Unpacked presentation. In the weeks leading up to IFA 2012, we had a feeling that Samsung would reveal the Galaxy Note II, the follow-up to the successful Galaxy Note. Samsung ATIV Tab Windows RT tablet hands-on
Samsung‘s cheapest new Windows tablet for IFA is arguably its most interesting: no removable keyboard, but Windows RT on an incredibly lightweight form factor. Strongly reminiscent of Samsung’s Android tablets – no great surprise there, really – it’s a well-made and impressively slim slate with a tactile brushed aluminum rear panel that feels great in the hands.

Just in case you didn't catch it in the whirlwind of announcements that were laid down today at IFA 2012 by Samsung, Qualcomm has announced that their ultra-powerful Snapdragon S4 processor lineup will be bringing the heat to the ATIV S smartphone and ATIV Tab tablet. The ATIV Tab tablet running Windows RT while the ATIV S is set to be one of the very first Windows Phone 8 devices to hit the market this Fall. The Qualcomm team's Snapdragon lineup also remains the only set of processor to power Windows Phone, 100% of them, the whole world over.

Samsung ATIV Tab 10.1 Windows RT tablet announced
Samsung is extremely busy here in Berlin dropping all sorts of juicy news onto the world. Following the excitement around the Galaxy Note II they've now moved onto Windows. The folks from Samsung have just introduced the ATIV Tab 10.1 Windows RT device. It looks very similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1 but runs on Windows.

Epic and NVIDIA announce Unreal Engine 3 for Windows 8 and Windows RT
Epic and NVIDIA announced at IFA today that they've teamed up to bring Unreal Engine 3 to Windows 8 and Windows RT. The announcement was made during the ASUS Vivo Tab RT press conference earlier this morning, and we were given a demo of Unreal Engine 3 running on the device, which comes complete with a Tegra 3 processor. Needless to say, it looks pretty good.

ASUS Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT bring Windows 8 to Transformer universe
It's time for the fabulous shape and style of the ASUS Transformer tablet line to work with Microsoft for Windows 8 glory with the ASUS Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT. This set of devices looks rather similar to the ASUS Transformer Prime, but with a bit of an updated set of specifications and Windows 8 or Windows RT under the hood. With the Vivo Tab we've got an 11.6-inch IPS display with 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution and an Intel Atom CPU inside. The Vivo Tab RT is just a bit smaller and makes the case with a Tegra 3 quad-core processor for mobile glory.

SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: August 17, 2012
Friday has come and gone, which means that the weekend is here once again. The latest iPhone 5 rumors have propelled Apple's stock to its highest point ever, and it turns out the company's funds will go toward helping tap a recently-discovered underground river in Crook County, Oregon. Earlier today we saw a picture of what was reported to be the Samsung Galaxy Note II, but later on in the day Daniel YU informed everyone that it was just his mock-up used without his permission. That's disappointing, but his mock-up looks great, so be sure to check that out.

Skype for Windows 8 shown off in leaked pics
Microsoft gobbled up Skype with an acquisition in May 2011, and it looks like the VoiP application will finally see a graphical overhaul with the upcoming release of Windows 8. Neowin has gotten its hands on a leaked version of the Skype for Windows 8, showing off the familiar aesthetic that Microsoft is aiming for in the latest version of its operating system. Neowin says that the app is still far from finished, but that most functions seem to be working without any issues.
