Nokia has teased its next camera-centric Lumia, running a promo campaign on UK television this weekend for the new Windows Phone 8 handset it is expected to officially unveil on Tuesday, May 14. The commercial, which focused on the dual-LED flash of the new smartphone, as well as what looks to be its slightly protruding lens, gives away little in the way of technical detail, but did drop the hint that it would be "more than your eyes can see," leading to speculation it will be the device so-far known as "EOS". Windows Phone 8 full-resolution media backup goes global

This week the developer teams working for Windows Phone camera and photos have announced that users will soon be able to instantly save full-resolution photos and video to the cloud no matter where they are on our planet. Previously this feature had only been available to select users in limited areas, and a full roll-out wasn't yet on the books. Nokia has officially announced the Lumia 928, its Windows Phone 8 smartphone for Verizon, and the device it has been steadily teasing over the past week. Packing a 4.5-inch OLED display and an 8.7-megapixel PureView camera, along with Verizon LTE 4G support, the Lumia 928 also has three high-audio-amplitude-capture microphones for better audio recording. It’ll also arrive with an impressively competitive price.

Nokia's compact Lumia 620 will finally get a US release, the company has confirmed, joining the prepaid lineup on AT&T's new Aio Wireless operator. Nokia Lumia 928 demos OIS with helicopter joyride

Another day, another string to the Nokia Lumia 928‘s bow, and the slow Finnish drip of information ahead of the new Windows Phone’s release now turns to the optical image stabilization (OIS) on the 8.7-megapixel camera. Anti-shake during still photo framing and video recording is one of the features most praise on the Lumia 920, and so it’s no surprise that Nokia is taking it seriously on the Lumia 928, strapping the new smartphone to a remote control helicopter to show how it can smooth out footage.

Huawei W1 heading to the US this month

Windows Phone 8 gains full-resolution video and image SkyDrive backups worldwide

Similar to the feature for Android users that allows images and videos to be backed up to their Google account, Microsoft offers full-resolution image and video backup to SkyDrive for Windows Phone 8 users. While handy, the feature wasn't universally available to all users, leaving some without the convenience it poses.
