We're still waiting for our moment in the sun with the HTC HD2, but already the previews and early reviews - not to mention our own launch-day hands-on - are keeping our appetites well and truly whetted.  Solopalmari have managed to acquire the Windows Mobile 6.5 uber-phone and are currently reviewing the merry heck out of it; among the details there's the first shots and footage from the HD2's 5-megapixel autofocus camera.

HTC HD2 hits O2 UK in week starting October 19th

According to carrier O2, the HTC HD2 will be launching in the UK from the week beginning October 19th, putting the flagship Windows Phone potentially less then 10 days away from capacious pockets.  We're yet to hear anything official from O2 or HTC themselves - the latter only told reporters that the HD2 would drop in October when they launched the Windows Mobile 6.5 device earlier this week - but customer services for the carrier have apparently been telling callers about the October 19th date.

That's an unusual form-factor, but other than the display - a 2.5-inch 320 x 240 resistive panel - it's a reasonably straightforward Windows Phone.  As well as EVDO Rev.A the Intrepid supports GSM for international use, together with WiFI and Bluetooth, a 3.2-megapixel camera and GPS.
