Yoga Tablet 2 with AnyPen hands-on: any object a stylus

Yoga Tablet 2 with AnyPen hands-on: any object a stylus

This week we're having a look at a whole bunch of Lenovo devices at CES 2015, one of the strangest being this Yoga Tablet 2. This device has an 8-inch display, Windows 8.1, and the ability to work with any metal object as a stylus pen. This device works with the same basic hardware as the Yoga Tablet 2 series we reviewed in late 2014, but here it's rolling with features that no other tablet in the world has come to market with.

Onda V919: an iPad Air clone that runs Windows, Android

iPad and iPhone clones aren't news, but once in a while you do come face to face with one that looks like a cheap knockoff on the outside but actually offers something unique and almost tempting when you take a closer look. Take for example this Chinese-made Onda V919 3G Air which is, without a sliver of doubt, meant to copy the design of the iPad Air 2. But inside, you are met with both Windows and Android, running on specs that are almost decent and a price tag that is definitely more than decent.

Samsung ATIV One 7 Curved bends the AIO for CES

Samsung ATIV One 7 Curved bends the AIO for CES

Samsung has been bringing curved-screen TVs, monitors, and smartphones to the market for a couple of years. Now it's time to hit the PC market with the ATIV One 7 Curved. This is what Samsung suggests is "the industry's first curved All-in-One PC", coming with a 27-inch curved, Full HD display first and foremost. A 4000R curvature and 178-degrees of viewing angle makes for a visual experience that's larger than a flat screen of the same size. Samsung will be bringing this device to CES 2015 in Las Vegas where SlashGear will be getting up close and personal for you.

GULEEK i8 Windows 8.1 box comes with its own battery

GULEEK i8 Windows 8.1 box comes with its own battery

Pico PC's like Zotac's ZBOX lines may be exactly that, tiny, but they aren't completely portable despite their portable size. They are, at the very least, tethered to a power supply to be even useful. One rather intriguing new product, however, tries to address that limitation. This odd GULEEK i8 "Windows 8.1 Smart Google TV Player" indeed comes with almost everything other pico computers have to offer with just a single but very important difference. It has its own 3,000 mAh battery inside.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q335 is an 8-inch Windows tablet for the enterprise

Ever since Microsoft opened the licensing doors, Windows 8 tablets have started coming in all shapes, sizes, and prices. Even major OEMs are scrambling to fill their low end portfolio with budget Windows tablets. But just because they're low key doesn't mean they can't be used for more serious cases. That is what Fujitsu is trying to sell with its new Stylistic Q335, a "mini" tablet that may be small in size and even in specs but was designed with business use in mind.

LG launches Tab Book Duo Windows 8 tablet convertible

A bit unexpected, LG just revealed the latest member of its Tab Book family. Not exactly well known even among the ranks of Windows 8 tablets, the Tab Books have been around since 2013, switching from Windows to Android and now back to Windows again. This time, LG is going for thin and light, advertising the Tab Book Duo to be the ultimate portable workstation that won't burden your shoulders, arms, or hands. At least not too much.

Intel acquires PasswordBox, may include service with McAfee

Security for your Intel-toting PC may soon be getting a whole lot easer. Intel made clear this morning that they'd be acquiring PasswordBox, a service that will allow users to collect all of their webpage passwords in to one package, requiring that they only remember a single password instead. PasswordBox has been in service for about a year, having been downloaded by users over 14 million times in the past 12-18 months. Intel has not let it be known exactly how they'll be integrating PasswordBox into their own services yet, but they have suggested that the PasswordBox will be moved into their security software business.

Lenovo snaps MacBooks to push YOGA 3 Pro

Lenovo snaps MacBooks to push YOGA 3 Pro

To make clear that the Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro does, indeed, bend all the way backwards, Lenovo has taken to the mall to drop some pranks on unsuspecting shoppers. Working with the UCB Comedy crew and Above Average, Michael Kayne, Shaun Diston, and Jim Santangeli bring on some pre-broken MacBooks and some Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro units to a demonstration kiosk for the public. Watch as the YOGA's hinge allows it to bend all the way backwards, and the MacBooks'... doesn't bend quite so easily.

Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro Review

Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro Review

Finally, a truly great Windows laptop. Lenovo's YOGA 3 Pro is thin, yet robust. It's powerful enough to handle tasks like video processing and light gaming, yet its battery life is optimized to such a degree that I'm able to use it like I would my main work notebook. The Lenogo YOGA 3 Pro transforms between a notebook, a touch display, and a tablet, but its abilities aren't just in place to be retrofitted to Windows 8's touchscreen intentions. The Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro isn't perfect, but it's very, very close.
