Surface RT grabs 64GB edition, accessories, double the market

This week the folks at Microsoft have announced not only the availability of the Surface Pro, but of a new version of the Surface RT, complete with a 64GB edition for the masses. Also announced were a collection of accessories, they joining the Surface RT 64GB party on the 9th of February with three new Surface Touch Cover Limited Editions as well as a Wedge Touch Mouse Surface Edition for your enjoyment. Microsoft Surface Pro tablet arrives February 9th from $899

Microsoft’s Surface Pro, the Windows 8 version of the company’s own-brand tablet, will go on sale February 9 in the US and Canada, it’s been confirmed. Priced from $899, Microsoft confirmed back in November, the Surface Pro will come with 64GB of solid-state storage as standard, along with the digital Surface pen; a 128GB version of the Core i5 tablet will be offered for $999.

Earlier today, we saw what's rumored to be the Samsung Galaxy S IV pop up in AnTuTu's database, with the listing suggesting that it will come equipped with an Exynos 5 Octa CPU. The iPad Mini has been projected to both drive and cannibalize Apple's sales in Q1 2013, and Kim Dotcom's new site Mega launched today for advance users. Apple CEO Tim Cook, Intel CEO Paul Otellini, and Google Chairman Eric Schmidt have all been ordered by Judge Lucy Koh to submit to questioning after allegations that the three companies entered into a non-poaching pact together, and we learned today that Windows 8 upgrades will jump up to $119 come February. We knew it wouldn't last forever, but the discounted $39.99 Windows 8 Pro upgrade will be coming to a close on January 31. After that date, users who want to upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7 or Vista will have to pony up $119 for the regular version and $199 for the Pro version, with the Media Center Pack costing $9.99. Microsoft PLAY brings Xbox Arcade to Windows 8 and RT

Both Windows 8 and the tablet-based iteration of the OS Windows RT are now able to access the brand new system known as Microsoft PLAY, full of Xbox games for the masses. This system is part of PlayXBLA, aka Xbox Live Arcade, Microsoft's initiative dedicated to bringing games developed in part (or in whole) by Microsoft itself, often collaborating with independent development studios to bring optimized games to Xbox 360, Windows Phone, and Windows 8/RT. After a lot of build-up, today is the day that Microsoft is ready to roll Windows Embedded 8 Industry into its Release Preview. Much like the consumer release of Windows 8 before, it seems that the three different versions of Windows Embedded 8 will be getting previews, with Embedded 8 Industry's going live today. Gigabyte has revealed a pair of new Windows 8 tablets, the 11-inch S1185 complete with a Full HD IPS display, and its smaller sibling, the 10-inch S1082. The larger of the two, the Gigabyte S1185, packs an Intel Core ULV processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 256GB of mSATA SSD storage, and both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity, though it's the 1920 x 1080 IPS display that will probably be most appealing.
