Lenovo won’t sell any more small Windows tablets in US

Windows tablets outside of the Surface are typically a hit-and-miss proposition, but few do it as well as Lenovo. Recently, Lenovo made overtures that in the US, some of their Windows-based tablets will be hard to come by. Though they won’t be dropping tablets (or Windows) altogether, they won’t be releasing any new smaller Windows tablets in the US.

Windows is rising to the Chromebook price war

HP is readying a $199 Windows notebook for the holidays, as Microsoft pushes Windows 8.1 against Google Chromebooks, one of a number of more affordable PC options. The HP Stream laptop, confirmed during the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, will be one of at least three models, though versions from Acer and Toshiba will be slightly more expensive, at $249 apiece.

Microsoft has received a lot of flack for how it ungraciously retired the Start Menu in Windows 8, but almost every time the topic comes up, there is always word of its return.
