Dell Windows 7 tablet rumors reignite amid enterprise push

All eyes may be on Dell's Streak 7 (aka M02M "Looking Glass") Android tablet, but the company isn't ignoring its enterprise customers either. More Dell Windows tablet rumors have emerged, this time with DigiTimes describing the company as - along with RIM and the PlayBook - "the most active brand" in the segment. ASUS has let slip more details about its upcoming CES 2011 tablet range, publishing - and then yanking - a video partially detailing the new Eee Pad EP71, EP101, EP102 and EP121 models. NetbookNews and Notebook Italia grabbed the best bits before the video disappeared; the Eee Pad EP101 and EP102 will each run Android on a 10-inch display, the EP101 having a dockable keyboard while the EP102 has a slide-out keyboard. MSI WindPad U100W Win7 tablet gets video preview: underwhelms

ASUS may have been content to tease details of its Eee Pad EP121 tablet, but other sources aren't quite so restrained. According to DigiTimes, the ASUS EP121 is targeted at enterprise customers - hence the content creation focus and Windows 7 - while two $499 to $599 10-inch Eee Pads will take on the consumer side from March 2011. One will run Windows 7 on Intel Oak Trail chips, while the other will run Android on NVIDIa's Tegra 2. ASUS won't be the only ones with a tablet presence, either; ECS and MSI are also tipped to be bringing slates to the show. ASUS Eee Pad E121 makes video tease: 12″ Core i5 Windows 7 slate

ASUS is dropping some serious hints about its upcoming Eee Pad EP121 tablet, ahead of the slate's official debut at CES 2011 next month. According to the teaser video, the ASUS EP121 will have a 12-inch display and use an Intel Core i5 processor; that's up from the Core 2 Duo ULV chip we first heard back in May. Viliv has joined the crowd of companies promising tablets for CES 2011 next month, with both Android and Windows 7 models promised. The Viliv X7 Android Tablet and X10 Android Tablet are billed as offering "anywhere connectivity" (suggesting 3G or perhaps even 4G wireless) and the "longest battery life" respectively, with the X7 presumably having a 7-inch display while the X10 has a confirmed 10.2-inch display. Microsoft is tipped to present a number of new tablet PCs during CEO Steve Ballmer's CES 2011 keynote, with brands including Samsung and Dell expected to provide hardware running the Windows OS. According to the New York Times sources, one of the devices is a Samsung slate that's "similar in size and shape to the Apple iPad, although it is not as thin. It also includes a unique and slick keyboard that slides out from below for easy typing"; that fits in with rumors of the Samsung Gloria, a 10-inch Windows tablet rumored last week. Intel expecting 35 Atom tablets in 2011; Dell’s Intel Android plans quietly deleted

Intel has announced manufacturer partners intending to produce 35 Atom-based tablets in 2011, with systems running Windows, Android and MeeGo all on the cards. CEO Paul Otellini confirmed the news at a tech conference this week, describing the two versions of Atom - Oak Trail and Moorestown - as targeted at Windows and Android/MeeGo tablets respectively.
