Nintendo has launched Hulu Plus for the Wii, releasing an app for the subscription-based streaming TV service for its console, and offering new users two weeks of free access. Available for download from the Wii Shop Channel today, the Hulu Plus app costs $7.99 per month - after the trial is over - and gives access to a catalog of recent titles in the US. In 2008, a seemingly massive 56 million people said they played a video game at least one hour per month. In 2011, that number is 135 million, and these figures are only representative of the US. And you know what the population of the US is, right? Around 307 million, In other words, around 44% of the entire country is now a gamer, a number that would probably near 50% if you took out newborns and others without the capacity to play video games. Activision’s sleeper hit Skylanders will have a sequel

Nintendo reveals 61% profit dive; Wii U on sale by holiday 2012

Nintendo's fortunes go from bad to worse, with poor sales of the 3DS and Wii between October and December contributing to a 61-percent drop year-on-year of profits, and the Wii U not expected until the very tail-end of 2012. Nintendo announced 40.9 billion yen profit for the three month period, going on to predict full-year losses more than three times greater than previously expected. Nintendo 3DS passes 4m US sales milestone

Nintendo has sold four million 3DS consoles in the US, the company has announced, as well as hitting new sales records on three titles, Mario and Zelda, Super Mario 3D Land, and Mario Kart 7. The milestone - which actually means the 3DS sold faster than the Wii did in its first nine months of launch, despite the glasses-free 3D handheld's pre-price-cut lull - put the 3DS in second place to the Wii in the US last year, with 4.5m of the motion-controlled consoles being sold. Facebook games are repetitive says Nintendo president
