Super Mario RPG hits the Wii U Virtual Console

Back in the mid-90's, Japanese-style RPG's were starting to gain popularity in the US. However, there was one game that probably did more for the genre than any other. I'm of course talking about Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. By creating an RPG that featured characters that we all know and love, it was an easy game for many to get into. And it's making its way back to peoples' homes.

Pokemon fighting game Pokken Tournament is getting an official Wii U controller

The controller you see in the image above may not look like it, but it's actually for the Wii U. The thing is, it's meant to be used with one game in particular: Pokken Tournament, the Pokemon arcade fighting game that is headed to Nintendo's home console next year. It's a wired controller and is notably missing any analog sticks, but those are unnecessary when it comes to dedicated fighting game fans, who prize smooth directional pads and zero latency button presses above all else.

Minecraft on the Wii U: Too little too late

Minecraft is the sort of game that we'll only see once in a lifetime. It was originally created by a single guy, and has gone on to be the single best-selling PC game of all time. In fact, it very well could overthrow Tetris and Wii Sports as the best-selling video game of all time. Newly minted company president Tatsumi Kimishima sat down with TIME Magazine to reveal as much as he could about his plans for Nintendo. And there might be some disappointment for those wishing Nintendo would make a stronger stance on mobile. The good news? Kimishima is at least promising that the Nintendo NX console will be very different from the much criticized Wii platform.
