The biggest news this week is Google I/O, coming up tomorrow. We will be there live, so be sure to stay tuned for all the exciting announcements, and of course our analysis. In other news this morning, the Apple brand may be one of the most valuable in the world, even more than Google. And we know people love Apple products, but, let’s not fight about them, mmmkay? And we are continuing to follow the Sony PlayStation Network story, as Sony has just announced that it will be the end of May before they get up and running fully again. Plus, NVIDIA and Icera, news about the Nexux S 4G, yet another Android tablet, and one that’s a little different, and lots lots more.

Exciting news from NVIDIA and Icera, and our own Ben Bajarin’s incomparable analysis of said news.

The Nexus S 4G smartphone hit Sprint and Best Buy stores yesterday, looking very round, and running Gingerbread.

Some new HP notebooks are here, for both business and consumers, the HP ProBook 5330m and the EliteBook 2560p and 2570p, plus the HP Mini 210.

Moar tablets! That’s what we say. Here are two: The BeBook Live is an affordable Android option, coming this summer, and the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 is running Windows and channeling a netbook.

The HTC Salsa and ChaCha Facebook phones dance in for pre-order.

That’s it for our Morning Wrap-Up, stay tuned as the day goes on for more news and analysis.

Early last week we had some videos crop up that begged for speculation on whether they were the white iPhone 4 or a white prototype of the iPhone 5. Studying the images now, you will see that the proximity sensor is a bit different than that of the images purported to be an actual white iPhone 4 accidentally sold early from a Vodafone UK store. And now we have yet another image leak to get us wondering again.

This image of a white iPhone device was picked up by folks at M.I.C. Gadget, and is believed to be a white prototype of the iPhone 5. Although the proximity sensor on this device more closely resembles that of the one sold from the Vodafone store than the one from the videos, the screen appears to be much wider with smaller surrounding borders. The body shape also appears to be much thinner, but it’s difficult to tell from the low quality image.

M.I.C. Gadget also has an image of the purported white iPhone 5 face plate sitting next to a purported white iPhone 4.

Here are two other images for your comparison. First is the image of the white iPhone 4 from the Vodafone store and the second is the image from the videos we mentioned.

It could also be possible that this is the prototype iPhone ’4S’ that sports the A5 chip, which has reportedly been seeded to game developers for optimizing games for the high-performance next-gen iPhone.

Either way, we should know for sure very soon what the actual white iPhone 4 will look like. A leaked memo and now a leaked screenshot of Best Buy’s inventory status pinpoints Apple’s white iPhone 4 to arrive on April 27th for both U.S. and Europe.

Way back when the iPhone 4 was first unveiled you were supposed to be able to get the smartphone in either white or black colors to suit your tastes. We even got our hands on the white version a bit and it looked pretty cool. That white iPhone 4 became a bit of a myth, as it was never able to come to market thanks to problems with the white paint and getting it to match phones made by different suppliers. That means for the entire life of the iPhone 4 so far the black version is all we have had.

That white iPhone is now apparently coming and in the UK the thing is already on the website of some carriers. Here in the US we haven’t had a firm date yet. A new screen shot has surfaced that is allegedly from Best Buy’s internal computer system that shows the white iPhone 4 in 16GB flavor with AT&T hardware. The launch date is 4-27 according to the screen shot and it will be in the store until 4-27-13 according to the listing.

9to5Mac also notes that its sources have previously told it that the white iPhone would hit the Netherlands on April 27 so Best Buy’s launch date seems accurate enough. The publication also says that sources have told it that both 16GB and 32GB version of the white iPhone 4 have already been shipped to Best Buy. Apparently, most stores will have ten white iPhone 4 smartphones on launch day in 16GB capacity. There is no indication of how many 32GB models will be available in white.

Just on the tail of news that supports an April 27th launch of the white iPhone 4, we now get photos of the actual device in its retail packaging thanks to a source from Engadget. The pictures were taken by a customer who claims to have purchased the unit from a Vodafone retail store in the UK.

The story goes that the unit was rang up at the cash register as a black iPhone 4. But, shortly after that transaction went down, Vodafone sent out a notice to halt the sale of the white smartphone. The pictures show a 16GB version with the model number MC604B/A which would suggest a 32GB version to have model number MC606B/A. This all falls in line with Apple’s numbering system making this tip more legit.

The white iPhone was supposed to launch alongside the black version but has been delayed time and time again. With all the evidence cropping up lately with the Vodafone inventory list earlier today and now the white iPhone 4 in its actual retail packaging, we feel pretty certain the time is upon us, and possibly just 5 days away.

When we were at the event where the iPhone 4 was launched, the device was on hand in both black and white colors. The only version to come to AT&T was the black smartphone with the white one having some sort of undisclosed issues with production at the time. We later learned that Apple was having issues with the white paint peeling and getting the color to match between makers of the iPhone 4.

On April 6 were reported that the hit iPhone 4 had been deleted from the Apple system and it seemed that the with version would never come to the market. Apparently, there is still a chance that fans of the white iPhone can get the device. Bloomberg reports that three people with knowledge of Apple dealings have claimed the white iPhone is coming.

According to the sources the white iPhone 4 will land this month with a date pegged to be “near the end of April” according go the sources. Sources have also said that no iPhone 5 will be coming at WWDC this summer. A white iPhone 4 might hold some people over until the iPhone 5 comes out. The next iPhone is expected to debut in September.

The elusive white iPhone 4 may finally make its appearance next month, according to Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The white version is believed to ship in April and will be limited to a GSM version for now, meaning only AT&T customers get to rejoice. No timeline has been suggested for a CDMA version for Verizon.

The white variation has been much sought after ever since Apple released the iPhone 4 back in June 2010. Its release kept getting hit with delays due to problems with the white paint along with camera problems. Kuo says that Apple has finally fixed the issues and the white iPhone 4 will indeed head to production.

However, this news does seem peculiar because if the white iPhone 4 were to actually release in April, sales numbers might not be that great given expectations for an iPhone 5 announcement around June or July. If the white version does come out in April, will you get it? Or would you wait for the iPhone 5?

The first time we saw Steve Jobs pull the iPhone 4 out of his pocket we were supposed to be able to get the smartphone in black or white colors just as we have for a while now with the iPhone 3GS. As it turned out the process used to paint the iPhone 4 white had some issues and we still don’t have the smartphone in white (at least not officially) today.

The wait for the white version of the iPhone seem sot be very near its end. A photo of the shelf tag for Best Buy’s white iPhone 4 has surfaced on Engadget. The tag shows the white 16GB iPhone 4 going for $599.99. That would be the no contract price.

The price is what the black no contract version sells for. Best Buy isn’t the only seller of iPhone 4s that we have seen tags for white offerings turn up at either, Bell also has spots for the white device ready to go.
