SlashGear Week in Review – Week 21 2009

The SlashGear team have been surprisingly mobile this week, with part one of our Lincoln MKS road-test, and toting Sprint's version of the MiFi 2200 portable EVDO hotspot around.  We still found enough time to get frantically excited about the Palm Pre, though, which we now know will launch on June 6th for $199.99.

That excitement is tempered with the ongoing rumors that stocks may be severely curtailed on launch day.  Not only have Best Buy and RadioShack insiders been talking of minimal handset numbers come June 6th, Sprint's own CEO is warning that the Pre will likely be in short supply for the first couple of months.  The concern is that all of Palm's momentum since CES back in January could fizzle out, as Apple are expected to announce a third-generation iPhone two days after the Pre's launch.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 20 2009

We kicked off the week with a review of Sony's OLED Walkman X, coming away mighty impressed by its iPod-besting audio quality.  Equally impressive was Flip Video's Ultra HD pocket camcorder; if only we could say the same for SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone.  While on paper this media-shifting app should be a 100-percent winner, AT&T's decision to bar streaming over their 3G network has left us and many would-be users upset.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 19 2009

We've had some much-anticipated and long-awaited gadgets land at SlashGear this week, so we've gone overboard with unboxing videos and hands-on galleries.  The Verizon MiFi 2200 only had its official announcement earlier this week, but we've been waiting for the Novatel EVDO-hotspot for so long you must forgive us some excitement.  Meanwhile the Vodafone HTC Magic has the honor of being only the second Android phone to the market, while the Tonium Pacemaker manages to offer something unique in a sea of PMPs.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 18 2009

It's been another week dominated by cellphones here at SlashGear, with our exclusive review of the HTC Touch Diamond2 plus plenty of news from the rival Android smartphone camp.  The HTC Magic launched on Vodafone Spain, but we were more interested in the Samsung I7500, a super-skinny slice of 5-megapixel Android loveliness.  Check out the live demo video here.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 17 2009

It's been a week of mobile device reviews, along with the Bluetooth accessories that go with them, here at SlashGear, with Samsung's Tocco Ultra S8300 and Instinct S30 showing up for playtime.  We also gave our opinion on the big news in Bluetooth headsets, in the shape of the Plantronics Voyager Pro and the Aliph Jawbone PRIME.  Finally, HTC's Touch Diamond2 flaunted itself in a video unboxing, while the Mophie Juice Pack Air for the iPhone 3G got its review.

SlashGear Week in Review, Week 16, 2009

It's Sunday again. Another week is about to start, but before we get to look forward to all the news coming out of the industry next week, we reflect on what we learned last week. Ok, I'm done reflecting, how about you? No? Can't remember all the news from last week?  Well here's the rundown.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 15 2009

We've been busy here at SlashGear getting reviews of some exciting new products for you, as well as covering all of the crazy Palm Pre, iPhone, Apple and BlackBerry rumors for you. If you missed anything last week, here's your chance to catch up on the important stuff.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 14 2009

CTIA was last week, and the SlashGear team brought you lots of great coverage from the event. While new devices were scarce, we got a closer look at some impressive phones and products from some of our favorite companies. We'll bring you up to speed on CTIA and other important news just in case you missed it.

We took a look at the MSI X-Slim X340 and compared it to the iPhone 3G and Lenovo ThinkPad X301 in terms of size. The MSI X-Slim X340 is an attractive laptop, and the planned sub $1000 price tag makes it even more so.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 13 2009

This week on SlashGear, we had some great articles, taking a look at some exciting new products, and one of us got to experience Beverly Hills pampering during his trip to visit DreamWorks and HP. I had the chance to review Apple’s newest button-less wonder, the iPod Shuffle 3rd Generation. It’s a great sounding mp3 player with some quirks that may take some time to get used to.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 12 2009

Headlines this week were a tussle between Apple's iPhone OS 3.0 announcement and the launch of the Dell Adamo luxury ultraportable.  We were pleased to see SlashGear readers in their thousands join us for our Apple liveblog and, while there may have been no new hardware, the features hitting the iPhone over the Summer - MMS, A2DP Bluetooth, copy & paste, and Spotlight, to name but a few - could keep the smartphone well ahead of the competition.  That's not what Palm wanted to hear; we ran through the key differences between the iPhone OS 3.0 and Palm Pre at our sibling-site My Pre.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 11 2009

Apple stole headlines this week with a surprise update just seven days after refreshing their Mac line.  The new 4GB iPod shuffle is even smaller than the original, using an in-line remote and VoiceOver spoken tracknames to get around the absence of a display.  Apple also released iTunes 8.1, while rumors of a multitouch 10-inch netbook flourished as first Chinese then US press picked up on the capacitive panel trail.

SlashGear Week in Review – Week 10 2009

As busy weeks go, this one has certainly been something to write home about (or at least a Week in Review about), with CeBIT, PMA and an Apple mega-announcement all taking place. ASUS arguably stole the former show in Germany, with the Eee PC 1008HA "Shell" once again proving that netbooks needn't be the ugly cousins to expensive ultraportable notebooks. For our full CeBIT 2009 coverage, hit the tag.
