Haier ibiza Rhapsody Sport: 8GB, WiFi & water-resistant

Haier have updated their ibiza Rhapsody PMP with a new, semi-rugged Sport version.  The audio and video capable PMP now comes with 4GB or 8GB of skip-proof flash storage, while still offering the WiFi, 2.5-inch color display and questionable styling of its 30GB HDD predecessor.  It can also connect to Rhapsody To Go, the music download service, to access new tracks. Elecom Class-6 SDHC is waterproof

We’ve seen plenty of flash storage based electronics devices with waterproof feature, hardly the storage itself. The Japanese looks to break the trend with the introduction of waterproof SDHC memory cards. A SDHC card is more likely to float if it’s accidentally dropped in the water but the Elecom-made SDHC is more than H20-friendly; as a IPX7 compliant device, it will withstand accidental immersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Besides waterproof; the Elecom is Class-6 standard, meaning it offers real-time recording directly to the card with a guaranteed minimum write speed of 6MB/sec and a data transfer rate of up to 15MB/sec. Elecom waterproof SDHC is available in 4GB and 8GB capacity. Mum’s the word on pricing information but it is slated to ship in December.

Sonim XP3 cellphone takes rugged to another level

Sonim have announced the follow-up to their XP1 rugged cellphone, which comes in the shape of the chunky XP3.  Despite Sonim's enthusiastic claims to the XP1's invulnerability, the XP3 is apparently even more shock and drop resistant; it's also waterproof, and can survive being fully submersed for 30 minutes within one meter of water. Freestyle Audio FA300 waterproof PMP with Mirasol display

This 4-inch LCD screen was announced yesterday for the Japanese market and here's the kicker: it's waterproof. This portable TV can be near water without incident.
