Fossil Meta Watch spun off to dedicated team

Fossil has washed its hands of the delayed Meta Watch project, selling the assets to the former leads of the Fossil Watch Technology Division, who will operate the smart-wristwatch project as a standalone company. Intended to bring updates from your smartphone - like SMS and email alerts, and details of missed calls - directly to your wrist, the Meta Watch is targeted at developers initially, in the hope that the platform can extend into mobile advertising and other segments. URWERK UR-1001 pocket watch may be the coolest watch ever

I am not a watch guy; I leave that to Vince and Ewdi. I can say that the coolest watch I have seen in a long, long time has surfaced from URWERK and it's called the UR-1001 Zeit Device. This is a pocket watch, not a watch that you wear on the wrist. Just a glance at the face and you can tell that the watch is insanely complex on the inside with a mechanical movement that times way more than just hours, minutes, seconds, and months. Fossil Meta Watch, hackable timepiece visits FCC

The Fossil Meta Watch was first shown off by HP at an event back in March and later pegged for a July release. But it has since faced several delays, most recently pushed back to September 2 for Hong Kong, with a date for the US still uncertain. But today, the watch has passed through the FCC, which signals that the wait shouldn't be much longer. Read The Full Story

Fossil Meta Watch delayed again

We have talked on a few occasions about the Fossil Meta Watch and it was expected to ship back in May. The watch never shipped and now the Meta Watch has been hit with another delay. Fossil has announced that the watch has had a "few production related hiccups." The watch is going to come in a full digital version and a version with analog and digital elements. Tokyoflash unveils new Kisai 3D watch

Tokyoflash is the place to go if you are a watch wearing geek that wants an odd looking watch. The latest watch from the company is called the Kisai 3D and at first glance it looks hard to read, but it's not. i’m watch offers Android on Your Wrist at a Premium

While this isn't the first time we've seen an Android wristwatch, it's certainly the most expensive. At 249 euro at their minimum and 14,999 euro on the higher end, you'd better know what you're getting into before you get this "i'm watch" for your mother for her birthday. This Android-based watch the Blue Sky group say is "compatible" with iPhone 4, all Android devices, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone 7, and the version of Android the watch itself will be running will be "a customized version" of Android 1.6. How on earth this group came to the conclusion that this ancient pre-2.0 version of the Google mobile OS was their best option for the watch we're not sure. Read The Full Story

MotoActive Tipped as Athletic Oriented Android Watch for Motorola

Motorola has has one other Android-based device in its potential ranks before, that being the seemingly very similar Tracy XL, this name being in place because it was to be aimed at the lovers of said last name of the original wristwatch-clad Dick Tracy, investigator deluxe. Now we're seeing several watches of a slightly similar build come through - back in December of 2010 we saw the Sony Ericsson LiveView, just this June the first we got to see a glimpse of the Tracy XL in part of its lovely glory, then even so recent as this morning we're privy to some hands-on feels for the WIMM Wearable Platform, again running Android.
