WIMM One Developer Kit Review

The WIMM One has a worthy ambition: shifting information from your smartphone screen to your wrist, and allowing you to get on with life rather than pulling your phone from your pocket every thirty seconds. To do that, WIMM‘s smart watch harnesses Android, a high-tech display and more sensors than you’d expect from the standard Rolex or Omega. The company also has its eye on smart watch world domination, with enthusiastic plans for third-party developers and hardware manufacturers. The WIMM One Developer Kit is the first step in that journey; check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Tokyoflash Kisai Seven brings concept watch to life

, Oct 25th 2011 Discuss [2]

Tokyoflash has revealed its latest unusual timepiece, the Kisai Seven, but rather than come from the oddball drawing boards of the company's Japanese designers, it's actually the handiwork of a fan. UK designer Scott Galloway turned to Tron for his initial inspiration, submitting the concentric circle design as a fan concept last year; little did he know, Tokyoflash would decide to manufacture it. , Oct 18th 2011 Discuss [5]

Motorola’s DROID RAZR wasn’t the only new Android device the company announced today; there’s the MOTOACTV packing Google’s platform too. It’s a brave move, launching a smart-watch, given the reception to the existing products that have attempted the market, and we’re not entirely convinced that the MOTOACTV will clinch things for Motorola, either. Check out our hands-on first-impressions after the cut.

Cadence Ecomatic sport watch offers twin charge options

, Sep 21st 2011 Discuss [0]

Cadence's binary watches are endearingly geeky if you're of the 8-bit persuasion, but the company's new Ecomatic sport eschews gimmicks in favor of dual-power. If you're an active sort, you can charge the Ecomatic sport via movement for up to 36hrs of runtime; those desk-bound and sedentary can top the charge up manually (by turning the dial, rather than shaking their arm around like a drunken windmill).
