According to Kotaku, two anonymous sources have come forward saying that Origins will arrive with multiplayer, being the first to offer such a feature — Arkham Asylum and Arkham City only came with a single player campaign. Kotaku says that one of the tipsters was the same one who correctly predicted the title of the game, as well as the setting (Christmas Eve with snow in the background).

It’s said that players will be able to play as a member of Joker or Bane’s gang with the task of trying to take down Batman and Robin. As for the bad guys who could be playable and customizable in the game include Killer Croc, Deadshot, Firefly, Black Mask, Deathstroke, and possibly Electrocutioner.

For the time being, it’s unsure whether or not the game will come with multiple multiplayer modes, but sources have seemed to hint at the possibility that there may be more than one mode to play with friends. Of course, we’re taking this with a grain of salt for now, but we should be hearing more about the game as it gets closer to its October 25 release date.

Game Informer announced the game by unveiling the cover to their May issue, which has Batman on the front decked out in his usual gear. The game is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, who will be taking over for Rocksteady Studios, who developed the last two Arkham games. Aside from the console version, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will release on the same day for the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.

The upcoming game’s plot includes eight of the world’s deadliest assassins all coming together in Gotham City on Christmas Eve to target Batman. The game takes place before both of the previous Arkham titles, and it will feature a “young, unrefined Batman,” who will encounter many supervillains for the first time. Deathstroke will be one of the villains in the game.

As for Blackgate, the game will be a “completely separate experience” from the console version, and the events in the game take place after the events in Origins. Armature Studio is developing the game, and it will be a 2.5-D Metroid-style exploration game, which could prove quite interesting.

Of course, we sort of knew that a new Batman game would come eventually after we discovered that Warner Bros. locked in a handful of Batman Arkham-related domain names. At that point, it was inevitable. However, the only details that remain are the title of the game and what to expect as far as the storyline and and new features.

Among these handful of domain names, though, were some that could considered the title of the next game in line. “Arkham Universe,” “Arkham Legends,” and “Arkham Stories” were all registered by Warner Bros., so we could see any of these as possible candidates, or it may have just been Warner Bros. covering their scent to trick any rumormongers.

Warner Bros. and Rocksteady Studios released Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009, and then released Batman: Arkham City in 2011. So, it certainly makes sense that the two companies are sticking to an every-other-year release cycle for the series. Arkham Asylum was released in August, while Arkham City was released in October, which means we could see the third installment arrive at around that time as well.

In his current position, Tsujihara oversees emerging technology operations, video games, anti-piracy, and home video, among others. The soon-to-be CEO began his career at Warner Bros. back in 1994, where he served as Director of Special Projects and Finance and dealt with the company’s involvement with the amusement park Six Flags. He then moved on to other positions over time, which have included Executive VP of New Media.

Tsujihara is currently on the MPAA’s Board of Directors, as well as serving as a member on the boards of City Year Los Angeles, Verdugo Hills Hospital Foundation, Entertainment Software Association, Kabam, and the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission. He holds an MBA from Stanford and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Southern California.

Both current CEO Meyer and Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes had fond things to say of the upcoming CEO, stating that he is “he is one of the most effective and respected executives within Time Warner.” As for Tsujihara, he said of his new position, “it is an honor to have the opportunity to lead this storied business.”

Netflix’s exclusive Arrested Development production won’t air until later this May, so while eager fans are waiting for the show’s return, they’ll be able to catch up on shows like Adventure Time, Ben 10, the Green Lantern animated series, Robot Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and TNT’s Dallas, which will join Netflix in January 2014, while the rest will come on March 30.

This licensing agreement comes just one week after Netflix announced an earlier deal, which focused primarily on live-action shows, and it appears that Netflix and Warner Bros. are becoming increasingly friendly with one another, which is both good for the two companies involved, as well as the consumers.

With the ever-increasing back catalog of TV shows, Netflix is becoming a dominant figure in the streaming media realm, hosting not only TV shows, but a respectable collection of movies as well. And every time the service makes another deal with a content provider, it becomes more and more tempting to cut the cable cord.

Of course, you’ll want to take any rumors with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from the company, but after the success of the first two titles, the idea that Warner Bros would just let the series linger seems silly. The domains were uncovered by Fusible, and were apparently filed by MarkMonitor, a brand protection company Warner has turned to in the past in an attempt to keep secrets from getting out. There are 15 domains in all, with each one using the word “Arkham” in one way, shape, or form.

The list includes domains such as arkhamuniverse.com, dcarkhamverse.com, batmanarkhambegins.com, and batmanarkhamstories.com. At the moment, none of the 15 domains actually lead to any kind of website, so it’s pretty clear that Warner is just sitting on these for the time being. If these are for an upcoming video game, it seems that “Arkham Universe” would be the mostly likely name, though with a list of 15 potential titles, Warner definitely has plenty of options.

Then again, these may not be for a video game at all. With Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy now finished, Warner may look to the successful Arkham series of games as the inspiration for a new Batman movie. While a new Arkham game seems much more likely, it would be foolish to rule out anything when we’re talking about money. Stay tuned.

Of course, there were plenty of Batmobiles between 1966 and 2012, and those will all be on display too. These include the Batmobile Michael Keaton drove in Batman and Batman Returns, the one Val Kilmer cruised around in Batman Forever, and the one from 1997′s beyond terrible Batman and Robin. As an added bonus, the Batpod from Christopher Nolan’s films will be on display as well.

The tour kicks off this weekend at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. On Saturday, the Batmobiles will be parked outside the Miller Lite Club, while on Sunday, they’ll be on display at half-time during the Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants. After the stint in Arlington, the Batmobiles will move onto Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Lousiana the weekend of November 3.

More dates will be announced later on, so no, the Batmobiles will not just be visiting those locations listed above. Make no mistake, if you’re a Bat-fan, this is about as good a chance as any to catch a glimpse at the various Batmobiles that have graced the silver screen throughout the years. Christopher Nolan has stated that he is “done” with the Batman franchise, but there’s always room for involvement in other roles than the director’s seat. Nolan noted with Access Hollywood that Hathaway was not only more than great as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, she’s certainly worthy of a follow-up as well.

“She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more. … I certainly think she deserves [another chance], she’s incredible.” – Nolan

Speaking with Digital Spy this week, Hathaway confirmed that “it would be lovely” to continue to continue the Catwoman story from the point its at in The Dark Knight Rises. She also confirmed that she definitely did not base her Catwoman on past portrayals of the character, noting that “I thought it was probably best to focus on being a part of Chris Nolan’s Gotham City.”

“I think it would be lovely to see more of [Catwoman], but only if it’s with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least.” – Hathaway
