SlashGear JapanSony’s OLED Walkman X has finally been granted a US price tag. Two versions of the PMP have been listed on Amazon, the 16GB at $299.95 and the 32GB at $399.95; there’s no word on when pre-order shoppers can expect delivery.

Two versions of the Walkman X will be available – 16GB and 32GB – priced at £209 ($319) and £270 ($412) respectively, though we’re expecting US prices (whenever they’re announced) to be lower.

I’ve spent a week with the NW-X1050, trying to decide whether OLED is enough to wrench the PMP crown from Apple and the iPod touch; this isn’t a review as such, as some of the functionality – notably YouTube and the Access browser – wouldn’t work, but think of it as a preview for the US model.

The Verizon MiFi 2200 only had its official announcement earlier this week, but we’ve been waiting for the Novatel EVDO-hotspot for so long you must forgive us some excitement. Meanwhile the Vodafone HTC Magic has the honor of being only the second Android phone to the market, while the Tonium Pacemaker manages to offer something unique in a sea of PMPs.
Sony Walkman X PMP Hands-on video demo
By Vincent Nguyen on Monday, May 4th 2009 1 CommentWhen I was asked late last week if the Sony Walkman X was something SlashGear would be interested in reviewing, it took all of maybe a fraction of a second to yell out YES! So am I impressed with the first ever PMP to sport an Organic light-emitting diode (OLED)? Let me just say that the display is hands-down the most gorgeous I’ve seen on any single phone or media player. Is that single factor alone enticing enough for me to give up my iPod touch? No, yes, well maybe no. I’ll have to spend a few days with the Sony Walkman X or NW-X1050 before I can give a definite yes or no.

Sony Walkman E-Series gets update
By Brenda Stokes on Tuesday, Apr 21st 2009 No CommentsSony gave their entire USB Walkman E-Series line an update today, giving the PMPs a new look and a new model, to boot. The new model is actually an 8GB Walkman called the NW-E044 and it makes for the highest capacity in the line thus far.
Sony launched NWZ-X1000 series PMP – features AMOLED Screen

The NWZ-X1000 sports 3-inch AMOLED color display with WQVGA resolution (432×240 pixel) capable of displaying 262,144 colors. Two models on this series will be available on April this year in Japan. The X1050 will have 16GB of storage space – priced at 40,000 Yen, and X1060 comes with 32GB of storage with price tag of 50,000 Yen. I would not call it an iPod killer, but it has the potential to take some market share once Sony launch it worldwide.

Sony Ericsson W205 and S312 headed for prepay

The Sony Ericsson W205 and S312 (shown after the cut) are both destined for prepaid service, the former aiming to be your “first Walkman phone” and the latter an entry-level cameraphone.
Sony Walkman OLED touchscreen video: super-smooth

The clip demonstrates menu animations and transitions that certainly seem to be on a par with the iPhone and iPod touch, perhaps the first time we can say that about a rival PMP.

Sony X-series OLED Walkman gets shipping date update from UK

The full disclosure from Hk’s Sonystyle revealed a 3-inch AMOLED touchscreen, much smaller and pocket-friendly X-series Walkman with a fully digital noise cancellation to rival Apple iTouch. There isn’t much updates on this breathtaking device from here, and all we know is it’s coming this Summer. Most of the development were contributed from UK, and the latest news over there is it could be out as early as May 10th.
