Vizio PC lineup 2013 refresh hands-on: it’s time for touch

Vizio's new Windows 8 Tablet PC was definitely one of the devices that caught our interest during CES 2013, but the company isn't content with stopping at just tablets. In fact, Vizio seems to have become very enthusiastic about Windows 8, introducing new lines of touch-based notebooks and all-in-one PCs that are ready to take full advantage of the operating system. We got to spend a little bit of time with them when we stopped by for a visit with Vizio, and starting right off, we have to say that we like what the company was showing off.

Vizio 11.6-inch Windows 8 Tablet PC hands-on

Vizio had a lot of cool things to show off at CES 2013, but one of the most exciting is its new 11.6-inch Windows 8 tablet. The tablet doesn't have a name yet, but the specifications speak for themselves. First off (and perhaps most importantly to some) is the fact that this tablet is running Windows 8 rather than Windows RT, which is great news for those who want the full Windows functionality on a slate.

Vizio Windows 8 PCs get AMD and touchscreen refresh for 2013

The full Vizio PC line has gotten a boost for 2013 with what's essentially the same great industrial design we saw first in 2012, coming on this time with AMD internals and full touchscreen displays. Perhaps the most interesting of these updates is the CT14 notebook being refreshed as the CT14T, coming in two models with one on AMD and the other with an Intel Core i7, both of them with the same sharp industrial design to keep them looking nice.

This week the folks at Vizio have unleashed the full barrage of Windows 8 machines you'd expect from a burgeoning new manufacturer of such devices, starting with the Vizio Tablet PC. The thing is though, Vizio isn't new, they're only just entering the PC market now, having released several rather aesthetically pleasing (and rather nice to use) machines over the past year. Here during CES 2013, they've jumped in on the tablet market as well.

Vizio Co-Star gets Google Play support

Vizio Co-Star gets Google Play support

Vizio's Co-Star streaming device now has support for Google Play, allowing users to download content and apps from the Play store and utilize it on their HDTV. Content can be synced from other devices to the streaming device, making it easier to manage purchases. The update was released today, and "will be pushed out automatically over the coming days." The update also brings with it enhanced HDMI and audio stability, better Netflix performance, and faster menus and navigation.

Welcome to the SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: Presidential Edition. The world of tech didn't come to a halt just because we needed to go out and vote, so in case you missed it, here's the big news from the day. We learned today that HTC and Verizon will be holding a press event on November 13, and it's there that we're expecting to get our first official introduction to the HTC DROID DNA. Speaking of HTC, the company gave us its earnings for October 2012 today, and they aren't looking all that great. Halo 4 officially launched today, but it isn't without its share of server problems, and physical Google Wallet cards have been confirmed on a Google support page.

The folks at Vizio have brought forth their first serious effort in the Windows universe with a couple of notebooks and this device we're reviewing today: the Vizio All-in-One PC. This machine has a giant, massively impressive display, wireless keyboard, trackpad, remote control, and external subwoofer that compliments the whole entertainment-ready machine quite nicely. Could it be that Vizio hit a home run their first time out in the park?
