ViewSonic PJD2121 Pico-Projector and WPG-350 WiFi-n video streamer launch

ViewSonic have outed a couple of new projector systems, the PJD2121 pico-projector and the WPG-350 presentation gateway.  The former is a 720p/1080i capable mini-projector which can throw a 60-inch image, while the latter hooks up to any projector or display with a VGA port and funnels presentations (up to 1024 x 768) or 1080p video via WiFi b/g/n from a nearby laptop or PC.

Of Viewsonic's new ULV lineup from last week it was the nettops that prompted the most interest.  The Viewsonic VOT 130 and 132 (on the left) and the Viewsonic VOT 120 and 121 (on the right) offer such notable features as NVIDIA Ion (in the VOT 132), a magnetically-attached DVD drive (the 13x models) and 1.3GHz CULV processor (the VOT 121).  NetbookNews stopped by for a couple of video hands-on demos with the nettops.

What the world needs now, sang Viewsonic, is Ion, sweet Ion, and so they gave us this.  The Viewsonic VOT 130/132 nettop may look like a pale VHS cassette but it's actually one of the items in the company's new product range, accompanied by two other compact desktops, two netbooks and a PMP.  Of the lot, though, it's the VOT 130/132 that's most interesting, having as it does optional NVIDIA Ion graphics.

ViewSonic reveals three 3D-capable projectors

Three new projectors were debuted by ViewSonic today, all of which sport 3D display functions. All three also have a 120Hz refresh rate and numerous inputs as well as network management.

First is the PJD6381, which features a .68 throw ratio, a 2,500 lumens brightness level and a 2,500:1 contrast ratio with a 1,024 x 768 resolution. A release date is expected in August and it will sell for $1,249.

Next is the PJD6211 and the PJD6221, which are the more middle of the road models. They have a 1,024 x 768 resolution and several inputs including VGA, S-Video and composite. Both will be available next month for $849 and $999, respectively.

According to Taiwanese industry sources, ViewSonic is preparing to launch its range of netbooks and notebooks in China, including a 22-inch behemoth notebook.  The company, which is better known for its LCD monitors, is seemingly looking to fight the downturn by branching out; it's unclear whether the new computer range will be self-developed or merely rebadged OEM systems.
