MSI debuts N580GTX Lightning Xtreme Edition video card, claims world’s fastest title

Companies that make video cards like to lay claim to the title of world's fastest when they can. AMD and NVIDIA like to do the same thing trading the title back and forth. MSI has unveiled a new video card at Computex 2011 called the N580GTX Lightning Xtreme Edition. This isn’t the first video card from MSI packing in the NVIDIA 580GTX GPU. The N580GTX Twin Frozr II surfaced form MSI back in January. The latest card gets a new fan and sensor design.

NVIDIA has outed its latest video card, the GeForce GTX 560, slotting into the competitive $199 price segment and offering 336 CUDA cores, an 810-950MHz graphics clock and 1620-1900MHz processor clock, along with 1GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface. AMD Radeon HD 6790 tipped to bring mid-range battle to GeForce GTX 550 Ti

AMD may have got a spanking with NVIDIA's GTX 590 - on paper at least - eclipsing their own Radeon HD 6990, but the company isn't wasting time weeping and applying cooling balm. Asus launches new GTX550 Ti DirectCU graphics cards

Asus has announced that it is now shipping some new video cards that use the NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti GPU inside. The cards support HD Blu-ray playback and 3D content as well. The GTX550 Ti DirectCU has 192 CUDA cores and a design that is tweaked for increased performance while running color and with less noise production than older card versions.
