Super Talent SuperCrypt USB 3.0 flash drives debut

USB 3.0 is starting to come to the market in force with new notebooks, netbooks, and motherboards that offer USB 3.0 ports. A number of add-in cards for laptops and desktops have also been unveiled to add USB 3.0 to existing computers. Along with the USB 3.0 ports, a lot of USB 3.0 storage products are coming to market and the latest is from Super Talent and is called the SuperCrypt drive.

ASUS O!Play HD2 quietly arrives at CeBIT 2010

ASUS have quietly added a third model to their O!Play mediaplayer range, the ASUS O!Play HD2.  With no information beyond a name in the CeBIT 2010 press release they've sent us, however, and nothing on the company site, we're left guessing to its complete specifications, though the single photo does reveal USB, eSATA and various forms of memory card reader.

Update: The O!Play HD2 is confirmed to have not only USB 2.0 but USB 3.0 connectivity.

AMD 890GX chipset with onboard 1080p-capable HD 4290 GPU confirmed

AMD have officially announced their latest chipset, the AMD 890GX, which incorporates integrated ATI Radeon HD 4290 graphics as well as paving the way for the company's upcoming AMD Phenom II X6 hexacore processor.  Out of the box the 890GX chipset will support 1080p HD Blu-ray playback, including picture-in-picture support, in addition to SATA 3.0 6Gbps interface and USB 3.0 support.

Details of two new, so-far unannounced ASUS mainboards have emerged, with one apparently tipping the imminent arrival of the AMD 890GX chipset expected to be part of AMD's upcoming Leo platform.  The ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 not only supports the new six-core Thuban processors, but squeezes in two USB 3.0 ports alongside its Radeon HD 4290 integrated graphics and two PCI Express Gen2 x16 slots.

USB 3.0 gear was everywhere at CES last week with all sorts of gear using the new and much faster interface. USB 3.0 hardware may be getting unveiled in droves, but computers and computer hardware to support the specification are still rather limited. HP has announced that it will include USB 3.0 support on select Envy 15 models.
