This week the folks at Qualcomm have announced that their one and only developer conference Uplinq 2013 will this year be held between September 3rd and 5th, chock-full of mobile application and developer strategy goodness from start to finish. This event will once again be working with technical sessions, chats, demonstrations, and networking opportunities in massive amounts - and SlashGear will be there to cover the whole gamut! While registration isn't quite open yet, it will be extremely soon for those interested in jumping in on the future of mobile computing from the Qualcomm side of the universe.

At Uplinq 2011 in an event by the name of Technical Super Session: What Your Apps Can Do When You Target Snapdragon, Qualcomm demonstrated two Gameloft games, one by the name of Real Soccer 2011 HD, the other by the name of Spider-Man Total Mayhem HD. Both of these games you can expect to be listed amongst the rest of the the team on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Game Pack - click that link for more information in a 101 article of ours. Both of these games are shown working at over 30 frames per second and both are being shown off on the brand new ASUS Eee Pad MeMO - 3D tablet sweeness playing some Snapdragon-optimized games for the win!

The first portion of this video you'll recognize from the post posted earlier the same day as this post you're looking at now. It's a piece of Qualcomm Demo Zero Shutter Lag Multi-Burst Photo Capture at Uplinq. In that video, same as this one, you'll see three gladiator warrior women walking towards the stage at an event entitled "Technical Super Session: What Your Apps Can Do When You Target Snapdragon." These women act as models for several demonstrations of the photo capabilities of some Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered devices.

Qualcomm Demo Zero Shutter Lag Multi-Burst Photo Capture at Uplinq [Video]

The folks at Qualcomm continue to impress with their newest demo which displays some zero shutter lag multi-burst photo capture. Sounds like they're ramping up for quite the processor war, and they're leaving no stone unturned. In this case, they've invited three warrior women to the stage during the Snapdragon Super Session on June the 2nd 2011. What they then do is use the Qualcomm MDP to capture a series of photos of these women fighting, a series of photos taken one after another in such quick succession that they're able to use the best face and features of the women and use which pieces they like.

Whilst hearing the big guns speak at Uplinq 2011, Qualcomm's show, we saw Nokia CEO Stephen Elop take the stage and outline five basic but large points for success. The first of these was to delight their customers. Certainly this is a point that every successful entertainment / productivity based company should be ready to do, certainly if they're working to sell products that will be the center of people's digital lifestyle, if you will. The rest of the points continued to make heavy amounts of sense.

The second gigantic keynote at Uplinq 2011 was HTC's show, starting with word of NFC, Cloud Data, and 4G. The event continued with the keyword HTC Watch - this, Peter Chou, CEO of HTC noted, will be a Global media hub that’s deeply integrated into HTC allowing for an immersive experience. It's also noted that HTC will now be working with Onlive for a rich gaming experience.

HTC Keynote at Uplinq 2011: NFC, Cloud Data, 4G

The event on the 2nd of June, 2011 began with the CEO of HTC Peter Chou taking the stage and speaking about no less than "Digital Mobile Lifestyle." This of course builds on the extended Qualcomm keynote yesterday that included much talk about the Digital 6th Sense. They note that in 1999 HTC developed their first smartphone enabling qulcomm to partner with HTC, and that in 2010 25m smartphone shipped with over 100% growth. That number is blasted again by 9.7 million being shipped in Q1 of 2011, Tripling sales. They then launch into Sense (HTC Sense, that is, of course.)

First mirasol ereader axed Qualcomm confirms

The first device to use Qualcomm's mirasol display technology has been cancelled, according to CEO Paul Jacobs. Speaking at Uplinq 2011 this week, Jacobs revealed that the device - an ereader expected to sell in low-volumes as a trial in the market for the backlight-free color epaper screen - fell short of his expectations and so the company decided to shelve it and focus on its successor.
