Logitech has outed a new pair of universal remotes, one physical and one for your smartphone, and throwing in the ability to control Philips hue lights too. The Logitech Harmony Ultimate is a $350 slab of do-it-all remote, complete with both a touchscreen and physical keys, and which can control A/V kit in cupboards thanks to an IR repeater along with Bluetooth-enabled consoles. Those who can't keep their phone out of their hand, however, might prefer the cheaper Harmony Smart Control bundle, which combines a comprehensive remote app for iOS and Android along with a more straightforward physical remote for others to use when your phone isn't around.

LG refreshes Magic Remote with Siri-style speech smarts
LG knows you scream at your TV, but now it wants some good to come from it, with a new version of its Magic Remote that can control not only an LG smart TV but other A/V kit in your rack too. The updated lounge wand now supports conversational commands, meaning you can ask for specific content - such as "Show me Call Me Maybe videos" - and it will know what you're asking for.

Logitech Harmony Link makes a universal remote of your iPad/Android
Logitech has announced the Harmony Link, turning your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android device into a universal remote. Pairing an WiFi-enabled IR blaster dongle and custom apps for each platform, the Harmony Link can replace up to eight remotes and supports macros such as "Watch a Movie" to automatically turn on your HDTV, Blu-ray deck, surround system and - if you have a fancy intelligent lighting rig - dim your lights too. The iPad app also includes personalized, in-app TV listings.

ThinkFlood offers Android RedEye remote control software for public beta
The last time I mentioned RedEye was back in April when they unveiled the RedEye Pro back in April. The only catch to the device was that the universal remote app was only offered for iOS. You do still need an iOS device to configure the RedEye and RedEye Pro hardware, but the company has now launched a public beta for the Android app universal remote control. Vizio Honeycomb tablet hits Amazon for $350
Vizio began taking limited pre-orders for its 8-inch Android tablet back at the start of the month, but now Amazon has got in on the action and they've undercut the manufacturer too. There's no launch date for the Honeycomb slate - Vizio itself was expecting the first shipments to head out on July 18 - but you can stake your claim now for $349.99.
