We’ve had two QWERTY Nokia smartphones on the SlashGear test-bench this past week, and the surprising thing is how differently the respective user experience is. Our Nokia E72 review went live earlier today; now we turn to the Nokia N97 mini, viewed by many – for better or for worse – as the Finnish company’s second attempt at the N97. Nokia E72 review
There’s always a risk when a high-interest product is announced that by the time it hits shelves its moment has passed. The Nokia E72 has been just such an anticipated smartphone, with eager E71 owners keen to upgrade to the Finns’ latest QWERTY marvel; problem is, at nigh on six months between announcement and availability, that’s a long time for the appeal to pale. Has tardiness robbed the E72 of its market, or does a well considered keyboard save the day? Check out the SlashGear review after the cut.
Nokia Booklet 3G review
While many scoffed at the idea of Nokia building a netbook, the idea does have its share of merits. After all, the Finnish company knows a few things about eking out runtimes from compact batteries, and with netbooks being perhaps the most likely of computing devices to be in search of mobile connectivity, stuffing them with the sort of wireless access your high-end Nokia boasts certainly makes sense. Throw in eye-catching design and you’re onto a winner, right? Unfortunately, we’ve found the Nokia Booklet 3G falls short in other areas; check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.
Cowon iAudio 9 PMP gets unboxed
Perhaps it's a 2009 thing and, come the new year, packaging will won't enthral us so, but for now there's a great deal of geeky appeal in how manufacturers choose to present their tech. Cowon have generally been associated more with audio performance than they have with style, but it looks like some of the "shape up" message is getting through: DAP Review have just taken delivery of the iAudio 9 PMP, and as their unboxing photoset shows there's obviously been a lot of thought put into how it's packaged.

Dell Mini 3i gets unboxed
Dell's Mini 3i may only have been official for a few hours, but already the first unboxing is upon us. PConline have taken the glossy Android smartphone from box to bench, and there are a few surprises to be had; firstly, Dell have ignored the swathe of popular opinion and not bothered including a 3.5mm headphones jack, and secondly they'd dropped a stylus into the box.

Nokia N97 mini and E72 video unboxings
Nokia’s Booklet 3G isn’t the only new device from the company on our test bench today; two of the Finn’s newest smartphones have also arrived, in the shape of the N97 mini and the E72. Announced back in September and June, respectively, each offers a full QWERTY keyboard and S60 OS, but in strikingly different ways. Nokia’s The Way We Live Next 3.0 event wasn’t intended to launch any hardware, but we’ve arrived back today to find quite a few Finnish goodies waiting to be played with. First up is the Nokia Booklet 3G, the company’s first netbook and a distinctive one at that: as well as the MacBook-style design there’s integrated 3G WWAN and GPS as standard. Litl Webbook gets video unboxing; prototypes revealed
We're still more than a little bemused by the Litl Webbook; the 12-inch notebook is no mere netbook, Litl insist, but instead offers simplicity of use more akin to a TV than a computer. However, while we might not be the target audience, even after a video demo it's unclear whether that simplicity is worth the $699 price tag. Litl have recently posted a video unboxing and hands-on demo with the Webbook.

HTC HD2 review
Twelve months ago HTC shook up the Windows Mobile world with the launch of the Touch HD, a smartphone that offered a vast touchscreen, lashings of connectivity and the latest version of their UI tweaking, TouchFLO 3D, to produce what was hitherto thought impossible: an alluring Windows Phone. Now, the company have attempted just such a revolution with Windows Mobile 6.5 in the shape of the HTC HD2. They’ve upped their game with a speedy Snapdragon processor, even vaster display and a fresh UI that’s been educated by their recent work on Android. Can the HTC HD2 again do the unthinkable, and give us a reason to love Windows Mobile?
Kohjinsha PA-Series MID gets video unboxing
Even if you don't quite see how a MID or UMPC might fit into your daily life, most people can summon up some enthusiasm about just how much tech is squished into those tiny chassis. Kohjinsha's PA-Series MID wowed us when it made its dinky debut then caused us to choke when we saw what the company were charging; now Wow-Pow have unboxed the tiny convertible.
