Samsung Galaxy Tab gets video unboxing

, Oct 14th 2010 Discuss [5]

Consider us suitably jealous; while most countries are still waiting to hear even some official pricing from Samsung, would-be German tableteers can already buy the 7-inch Galaxy Tab slate.  Carrypad is one of the first on the scene with an unboxing video and hands-on demo. , Oct 12th 2010 Discuss [3]

Whether or not 28 days between its announcement and it shipping sets a new record for the company, the Nokia C7 is a welcome addition to the Finn’s smartphone line-up. Slotting into the company’s mainstream range, it’s the second Symbian^3 device after the Nokia N8 we reviewed a few days ago. More first-impressions, plus hands-on photos and video after the cut.

Nokia N8 video demo

, Sep 30th 2010 Discuss [4]

Final software, final hardware, finally shipping – it’s N8 day, and the Nokia team is unsurprisingly pretty pleased with itself for making it inside the Q3 window.  So how does the N8 hold up?  We’ve used plenty of different prototypes along various stages of the development path, and it’s fair to say some have been patchier than others.

Nokia N8 Unboxing

, Sep 30th 2010 Discuss [0]

Nokia’s N8 started shipping to pre-order customers today, slipping just inside their Q3 2010 promise, and the Finns were kind enough to offer us one of the first from the production line.  Fresh out of Helsinki, the new N8‘s are certainly well made and feel just as premium in the hand as the prototypes always did.

WeTab goes on sale, gets video unboxing

, Sep 23rd 2010 Discuss [2]

Looks like the first WeTab tablets are out in the wild, with the Atom-based MeeGo slate now up for sale at Amazon Germany (€449 for the 16GB model; €669 for the 32GB model with GPS and 3G/UMTS) and NewGadgets having time to shoot the customary unboxing video.  It's still too early for any real feedback - though we already know it won't have any sort of app store access, at least for the first few months - but you can at least see what you get in the box. Toshiba AC100 gets played with: hardware good, Android lacking [Video]

, Aug 27th 2010 Discuss [0]

Having been spotted in-stock and up for sale in Europe yesterday, the Toshiba AC100 has now made an appearance in Taipei.  Netbooknews got the Japanese version - launching there as the Dynabook AZ - and have mixed impressions; as reviewers found with the HP Compaq Airlife 100, Android simply isn't really ready for netbook-style implementations. SmartDevices’ $289 SmartQ T7 3G Android tablet gets video unboxing

, Aug 26th 2010 Discuss [4]

We have to admit, we didn't expect SmartDevices' SmartQ T7 tablet to make it to a launch outside of China, so the news that the 7-inch slate has dropped at Carrypad's German HQ is quite surprising.  They've wasted no time in unboxing the Android 2.1 tablet, and considering the $289 price tag ($249 if you don't mind missing out on 3G) they're impressed. Toshiba Libretto W100 import gets video unboxing & review

, Aug 16th 2010 Discuss [2]

Toshiba's Libretto W100 is an exceedingly expensive way to get dual LCD touchscreens in a clamshell device, so you'll forgive us if we pay close attention to early unboxing reports to see if its worth the $1,400+ importers are currently asking.  Wow Pow grabbed one of Conics early units and subjected it to a three-part video unboxing and review, which you can watch after the cut. AT&T’s Captivate is the first of Samsung’s Galaxy S series smartphones to reach the US, and our review unit has just dropped onto the test bench.  Packing a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor and 16GB of onboard storage, AT&T’s latest Android device marks a reasonably significant style departure from the original European Galaxy S, though you still get Android 2.1 and TouchWiz 3.0.  Check out the unboxing and our first impressions of the AT&T Samsung Captivate after the cut.

iPhone 4 unboxing

, Jun 24th 2010 Discuss [3]

It’s not our first iPhone 4 experience, but there’s still something special about holding your very own handset.  There’s more than one iPhone 4 spread among the SlashGear team right now, and we wanted to share the unboxing experience and some first-impressions ahead of our full review.  Apple still have the knack for slick packaging – which also manages to be minimally wasteful – so join us after the cut for the full hands-on.
