E3 2015 might be over, but Sony had one last reveal to make that's related to gaming and so much more. It has finally announced when its ridiculously thin 4K Ultra HD smart TVs will be available and for how much. These slates of pure entertainment flaunt their almost impossible thin profiles that make them look like they were directly embedded in your living room wall. And, being powered by Android TV, they can cover almost all use cases imaginable, including even productivity on a large scale.

Comcast dives in on 4K hardware with “Xi4″ set-top box

This week the folks at Comcast have decided there's plenty of 4K content out in the wild. Enough, at least, to release a 4K Ultra High-Definition Set-Top Box for consumers. The "X1 set-top box" has been announced on the X1 platform, delivering Xfinity TV costumers with 4K UHD content. For those of you that aren't familiar, "UHD" also means "Ultra-HD", and essentially means the same as the term "4K", or a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels across a single screen - your screen, the screen you have in your living room.

Sony has just unveiled another team of Ultra HD Smart TVs, but this time the focus isn't on curves like its rivals in the industry. Sony's 2015 4K lineup is somewhat a bit more traditional but still a bit groundbreaking. For one, they are one of the few Smart TVs that have started bearing Android TV inside, finally making the ancient dream of "Google TVs" finally come true. YouTube is gearing up to be a competitor for Twitch TV, so it needs to be able to replay gameplay clips at the same amazing level of graphics as the actual games. 4K display is becoming the new standard for ultra-real VR headsets like Oculus, and we've seen 4K 60 FPS on the newest generation consoles like the XboxOne and PS4. LG reveals Ultra HD TV spring lineup availability and pricing

LG has revealed both the pricing and the availability of its new 4K Ultra HD televisions for 2015, and chief among them is its new 4K UHD OLED TV, which is set to be available this spring. Aside from the OLED offering, the rest of the sets are 4K LED televisions with different features and price points, all of them also set to arrive this spring. There are a total of six different models, most of which are being offered in a trio of sizes.

LG to introduce TVs with quantum dot technology at CES 2015

LG Electronics has announced plans to reveal a new 4k Ultra HD television using quantum dot technology at CES 2015. By incorporating the new technology, LG says its new televisions give consumers a wider color palette than previously available, as well as better color saturation in comparison to ordinary LCD televisions. In addition, the new televisions using quantum dot technology will be available some time in 2015. Says LG's In-kyu Lee, "Quantum dot's vibrant and vivid color reproduction capabilities brings LG’s LCD TVs to the next level when it comes to picture quality."
