Ubisoft: Desmond’s Assassin’s Creed days are numbered

We've seen quite a few Assassin's Creed releases since the first one hit shelves back in 2007, and even though we've met a lot of different characters along the way, one thing has remained the same: modern-day assassin Desmond Miles is constantly featured throughout the series. That may not be the case for much longer, however, as Assassin's Creed 3 creative lead Alex Hutchinson tells Polygon that the Desmond story line has to wrap up sooner or later, presumably with the series continuing after Desmond's tale has come to an end. According to Hutchinson, the Assassin's Creed series risks losing "resonance" with fans if Desmond's over-arcing story line continues on for too much longer. Read The Full Story

Assassin’s Creed 3 PC hit with a delay

Assassin's Creed 3 looks to be the most exciting entry in the franchise yet, but unfortunately those who were planning to play it on PC will have to wait a little bit longer than those playing on Xbox 360 and PS3. Ubisoft has delayed the PC version of Assassin's Creed 3 past the originally planned October 30 release date, but didn't delve into specifics as to why. Michael Fassbender signed for Assassin’s Creed movie

The undeniably popular video game series Assassin's Creed has a film adaptation in the works and this week none other than Michael Fassbender has signed on for the full ride. The most recent entry in the Assasin's Creed video game series features a set of assassins who throughout history have been cutting down England's Knights Templar, finding themselves once again murdering the lot of them in Revolutionary War - aka the American War of Independence if you're reading this from the UK. Ubisoft’s ZombiU might be ported to other consoles

Even though ZombiU has a name that sounds like it has to be a Wii U exclusive, there is a chance that it might be turned into a cross-platform title. ZombiU was among the title that made the most waves among Nintendo's requisite lineup of Mario titles and mini-games on the Wii U. So to be exclusive would be a huge benefit to the platform. Ubisoft apologizes for broken split-screen promise

There've been some fans of the Ubisoft franchise Ghost Recon crying foul over confusion on split screen play in the new video game Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The confusion comes from the fact that some retail sites, including the UbiShop, are listing details that there's a split-screen campaign co-op mode. Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed faces lawsuit from novelist

Beiswenger has filed a lawsuit against Ubisoft, claiming that its Assassin's Creed video game franchise follows a storyline that is eerily similar to his series of "Link" science fiction books. He specifically calls out Assassin's Creed's spiritual and biblical tones and the battle between good and evil as being ripped right from the pages of his novels.
