Pinnacle PCTV 1080i USB TV tuners support ATSC & digital cable

Pinnacle have announced their latest two USB TV tuners, the PCTV HD Stick and the PCTV HD Pro Stick. As with their predecessors, both tuners can receive free digital HD and SD TV over-the-air (ATSC) channels; however, they now support unencrypted digital cable (ClearQAM) channels. The tuner/demodulator itself has also been upgraded, and is now more sensitive for improved reception of both analog and digital TV.

Sony deny rumored PlayTV July launch & pricing

TV addicts looking for PVR functionality on their PS3 will have to wait a while longer for Sony’s PlayTV device, is the official statement from the company.  PlayTV, which is a twin-tuner accessory compatible with over-the-air digital TV – such as the Freeview system in the UK – was first announced at the Leipzig games show in Germany last year.  Amazon.co.uk recently put up a pre-order page for the gadget, pricing it at £59.99 ($118.82) for a July 31st launch; however, that has since been taken down.

MobiBlue Cube 3 – even smaller-er

This is the successor to the Cube 2 and will hopefully have a better user interface as that was one of CNet’s main complaints of the Cube 2. It still has the OLED screen, FM Tuner, and 2GB of storage space.

This player also has support for MP3 and WMA formats which makes it PlaysForSure compatible. Other than the relatively low storage capacity, possibly difficult to navigate UI, there is the $99 price that you’ll have to get over.

Mitsubishi DVR-BZ100 and DVR-BZ200 Blu-Ray Recorders unveiled – feature packed

Sure, they play and record on Blu-Ray discs, and that’s cool, but that’s nothing compared to the touch-screen remotes that they come with. Both units also have internal hard drives built in.

Clarion NAX973HD – like Ford Sync for non-Fords

It has a 30GB HDD, a USB port, and a 400MHz just to start. It also has GPS built in so it can do navigation and get you where you are going.

NHS-130C Rack Mounted home theaters system from Sony

You would think that if someone was going to put out the money for a system like this, it would be a bit more practical than this particular system is. However this thing is loaded with all HD and SD goodness that you could possibly want from top to bottom.

Hi-Can is a Hi-Fi Canopy

In fact that’s what its name is short for, so you are wondering, how can a canopy bed be high fidelity? Well, its simple, there is a projector, sound system, and projection screen that you can’t readily see, all built in.

DVico TVIX Trash can shaped DVR almost as useful as R2-D2

It’s an HD network multimedia play that is also a PVR and HDTV Tuner. It can playback HD (and I assume SD is no problem either) content from its hard drive, USB ports, or from any computer connected to it via the local area network.

CES 2008: Toshiba Qosmio is first notebook with HD-DVD R/RW drive

The Qosmio G45-AV690 is an amazing laptop with it being the first notebook with an HD-DVD R/RW drive being one of the many new features. It’s a 17-inch notebook with a 1080p resolution for HD-DVD playback. This Toshiba laptop also has the OpenCable or OCUR chipset in it allowing you to have a digital tuner for recording digital or analog TV both over the air or from a Digital cable service and even allows the use of a CableCard.

Cherry Picks 2008: Gibson Robot Guitar

Allow me to list just the technology stuffed in this thing that allows it to tune itself, there are locking servo powered tuners in the tuning keys, there is a CPU in the neck, which is all controlled by they Tune-Control Bridge, a Tune Core Controller, Data-Transmitting Tailpiece and much more. To tune it, automatically, obviously, because why would you buy this to tune it yourself, you select A440 tuning or there are 5 other presets.

Asus Nova P22 small 2-liter PC

Its not quite as small as a Mac Mini, and the pricing on a Mac Mini might be a bit more convenient too. The NOVA P22 is a 2-liter PC weighing in at 1.78 kilos.
