new palmJohn of CrunchGear just informed me that the new antenna-less Treo we’ve been covering is indeed going to be versioned Treo 750.  As to which “750” it’s still unclear whether this will be the same 750 as the “Lennon” that is coming to Cingular in October, or if it’s the rumored 750v, which is the European only version.  John also confirms that the “Lennon” (possibly named the 750w) will feature WiFi, but it’s still a mystery if this device will include UMTS and class 10 EDGE.  The “Nitro” is a PalmOS based 750 (possibly named the 750p) will sport similar stats, with higher resolution, but lacks WiFi – Boo!  It’s hard for me to believe that these two new Treo 750 will sport the same 1.3 megapixel as the current Treos, with only resolution of 240×240.

I’ll be sure to update any new info that should come along between now and the morning of Sept 12.  Again, I have the first slot to meet with Palm for a detail briefing at 10AM – and hour after the official announcement out of Europe.  So, make sure you check back for more detail images as well as video for your viewing pleasure!

My dear Treo-addicts, I’m afraid I’ve failed you all. In my attempt to gather more info (on the Lennon – 750), I was merely told that the special invites for the premiere of the new Treo were sent out. The event is to take place somewhere in Europe on September 12th. Coincidentally, CTIA Wireless also starts on that day. I’ve secured, signed, sealed and deliver the first slot to meet with Palm representatives on Thursday September 12th at 10AM PST. I will have live shots and videos for your viewing pleasure. Please NOTE that this will be an hour after the OFFICIAL announcement of the new Treo. The final announcement should be released at 9AM PST.

UPDATE 08/25/2006 here. Original source of the images @ PDAEXPERTOS.
I promised early on in the week that there will be no more Treo articles until Friday – but this is too juicy to hold back. These images of Palm’s new antennae-less Treo were just dropped in our mailbox (Thank you – you know who you are!), and we feel obligated that you should see them. I don’t remember seeing these images anywhere else so I hope you enjoy them.

Gadgetsonthego.net just confirmed that the Palm Retail Store in LA is indeed selling the Sprint Treo 700wx! They don’t take orders over the phone, so if you absolutely must have the Windows version of the Treo, then either book a flight or beg someone you know in LA to get one for you. The price is $649.00.

In other news, CrunchGear (via Shadowmite) just posted a side-by-side comparison video of the Sprint 700wx and the 700w from Verizon. They have the same connectors on the bottom; same keypad layout and the side buttons are the same. However, the 700wx is a bit more responsive and has more than double the program memory! Lastly, the mail program is missing all together.

700wx_1.jpgI promise this will be the last Palm Treo article for the day, and may be for the week until Friday. So earlier today, SprintUsers leaked Sprint’s rumored spec sheet of the Treo 700wx – thanks a lot guys! Then out of nowhere a box with Sprint and Treo 700wx shows up. What can we expect next; an antenna-less Treo image and spec leak? Yeah, right, keep dreaming.

treo side cardAll right, the buzz around the Internet is that Palm’s announcing the next-generation of Treos. SlashGear has confirmed and will bet the farm that Palm intends to make the announcement in Europe on September 12. That’s the good news, and here’s the bad news. There’s a high probability that the new Treos are for the European market – ONLY. “The ink should read that the announcement is for Europe only,” said a Palm spokesperson. There isn’t much more we can say at the moment, at least until this Friday, so come on back!

When every bite of fish, meat or even wholesome grain contains hideous toxins that sap your memory, it’s no surprise that unofficial, anecdotal statistics tell us that every individual in the United States is lost at least eighteen times every hour. But now the Palm Treo-owning amongst them, or at least those with a spare $299, can find their way around with the official Palm GPS Navigator.

Palm Treo GPS

Essentially a package running the popular, straightforward TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 software with a branded Bluetooth GPS unit, car cradle and memory card, it’s available now.
