Jem and the Holograms trailer is just the worst

Jem and the Holograms trailer is just the worst

The first full-length trailer for the live-action movie Jem and the Holograms is released to mixed reviews. If you were looking for something Truly Outrageous, you might be in luck. For all the wrong reasons. What you're going to get isn't the cartoon version of Jem. You're not going to get something campy and fantastical. Instead you're just going to get Pitch Perfect again. Just in time for Pitch Perfect 2! And lucky you, this movie was given a budget of $5 million to shoot, shot as fast as possible, made into a Chick-Flick while its 80's-era partners are given more than 100x that budget.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate gameplay trailer tells all pre-alpha release

Ubisoft releases the first trailer for Assassin's Creed Syndicate, a game based in London at the dawn of the modern era. This game has you playing as Jacob Frye (or his sister), fighting for justice "on behalf of London's enslaved working class." This game has everything - top hats, Big Ben, underground fight clubs, human skewers on assassin's blades. It's just the works. This game should also take what was with Assassin's Creed Unity and amp it up a level - up to 11. Up to the place where Tower Bridge was born.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer rehashed in 16-bit stylings

Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer rehashed in 16-bit stylings

The Internet can’t get enough of modern media being turned into 16-bit masterpieces. We’ve seen numerous examples via the always wonderful (and somewhat disingenuously named) 8-bit Cinema, for example, and some have even taken to creating philosophy videos in fun pixelated stylings. It’s no surprise, then, that someone has created a rendition of the latest Star Wars movie’s trailer rehashed as a 16-bit video game, bringing back memories of playing Star Wars games on the SNES. Video after the jump!

Kurt Cobain’s “Montage of Heck” documentary and the mixtape therein

The mixtape known as "Montage of Heck" is the centerpiece - the namesake - of the documentary (coming to the public soon) about Kurt Cobain. Inside this mixtape is a cacoffiny of oddities. Everything from KISS to The Hobbit, the Star Wars audiobook to Queensrÿche. It's not your average mixtape. The same is true of the documentary. Created using home movies, tapes, concert footage, and other unseen bits of footage and audio, the creators of Montage of Heck have made a showing of the lead singer of Nirvana's life - and subsequent violent death.

The Avengers Age of Ultron Spider-Man scene that wasn’t

The Avengers Age of Ultron Spider-Man scene that wasn’t

First of all - there is no post-credits scene in Avengers: Age of Ultron at all. None. There is, however, a very clever hoax being delivered to the web this week courtesy of one serious hoaxer. How exactly they created the sequence you're about to see, we do not know - but it's fairly believable. Especially since this is the quality at which most "post credits sequences" are delivered these days, generally speaking. And it wouldn't make much sense for Marvel to reboot Spider-Man like this AGAIN, would it?

Another Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, this time in LEGO

Another Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, this time in LEGO

Some people just have a lot of time in their hands. Or lots of creativity. And definitely lots and lots of LEGO pieces. The group of "quirky artists" at Brotherhood Workshop probably qualify for all those. Combining months of hard work, scene by scene analysis, and a whole load of LEGO, the groups was able to recreate one of the earliest trailers for Avengers: Age of Ultron. They have just released their own LEGO stylized trailer, and just in time to welcome the premiere of the non-LEGO film this week.

Jurassic World full trailer released: watch this madness

Jurassic World full trailer released: watch this madness

The next Jurassic Park movie - Jurassic World - is going to be truly nuts. More nuts than Jurassic Park III - and that was completely nuts. What you're about to see is the first full-length "global" trailer for the film with full-on plot details and more Star Lord - I mean "Owen Grady" than you can handle. Because Chris Pratt is still Chris Pratt, and his jokes are tendered to his fabulous down-to-earth ability to make you giggle. But the velociraptors used as hunting dogs - that's not a joke. That's for real.
