ThinkGeek shows off Electronic Rock Guitar Bag

ThinkGeek has some of the coolest geeky toys and wares around. Some of the stuff is a bit odd like that titanium straw we talked about a while back. For a while now ThinkGeek has also been offering shirts that have musical instruments on the front you can actually play. So far, you can jam to a guitar, keyboard, and drum shirt. Power Up puts electric motor on paper airplanes

I used to build paper airplanes a lot as a kid. I once tried to graft one of the rubber band propellers from those little balsa wood planes you could get at the store onto the paper planes with no success. I was never able to get the balance right and the planes always crashed. A cool new gadget called Power Up has broken cover that will give you an electric engine for your paper airplanes. BlueDrone RC Nissan GTR is controlled by an Android smartphone

I really like remote controlled toys and have since I was a kid. I have had hankering for one of the AR.Drones that are controlled with the iPhone for a while now, but I can’t bring myself to spend that much money on a toy I'll break. A new toy that is controlled by a smartphone has landed on KickStarter and the toy is called the BlueDrone. Read The Full Story

Griffin has outed a new remote-control helicopter, the Helo TC, which turns your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad into a command station. The Griffin Helo TC is a dual-rotor 'copter, like many we've seen over the past few years, but offers iOS control via the free Helo TC app, and all for a relatively bargainous £34.99 ($56). Air Pick plays a note to the tune each time you strum your air guitar

Air guitar is the age-old ritual that goes along with your favorite music and happens when a music fan has no musical talent of their own to actually play the song (in my case anyway). Instead, we turn to faking. Air guitar is basically the instrumental versions of lip sync. A very cool new toy called Air Picks has surfaced that make your air guitar actually playable. LEGO-licious Star Wars Sandcrawler used 10,000 bricks

I mentioned a cool LEGO kit yesterday that is the largest Technic set LEGO has ever offered at about 2,000 pieces. That LEGO kit is nothing compared to this DIY LEGO construct that Marshal Banana spent nine months building. That is a long time for the birthing process of a 3-foot long 10,000-piece Star Wars Sandcrawler. I would have never finished something this epic. The crawler has remote control steering and is incredibly detailed. Read The Full Story

Gigantic LEGO Technic set is a Mercedes Unimog truck

Geeks like LEGO, specifically the LEGO Technic sets that are so crazily detailed that you have to put the littlie LEGO pistons into the little LEGO engines of some models. The latest LEGO Technic set to be unveiled is a scale model of a truck that we rarely see in the States, but is apparently pretty common in Europe. The truck the kit is modeled after is the Mercedes Benz Unimog. That is a strange name, Unimog sounds like some sort of subterranean mythical creature that Hercules fought. Read The Full Story

Outlaw Toymakers Lampoon Zuckerberg

, Mar 9th 2011 Discuss [0]

Those jokers over at M.I.C. Gadget have done it again. You might remember them releasing an action figure of Apple's CEO last year. This time they've chosen to release a figure for FaceBook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. "It is heavier than an iPhone, lighter than an iPad. And it stands 7 inches tall." He comes accessorized with a Like It button, Adidas sandals, and smarmy grin. Read The Full Story

Remember when you were a kid, and you had a bunch of LEGO blocks lying around you? Whether or not you had just destroyed some crazy creation to make the mess, the mess always happened. But, eventually, you picked up those blocks, and started building something. Something you saw somewhere, in a movie, in a comic book, or maybe from the depths of your imagination. Geek builds a better Nerf gun

I would bet that there are lots of geeks out there that own Nerf guns and have no kids in the house. That's OK, I use my kids as an excuse to own some Nerf guns. I randomly shoot people as they come in my front door just to keep them on their toes. Read The Full Story

Crayola Crayon Maker Recycles Your Crayons, Jumbles Colors Together

, Dec 27th 2010 Discuss [1]

Until we can draw on the walls without leaving a mark, or at least until our kids can, we're left watching as the little ones destroy their crayons in some capacity or another. Whether they just get run down to small nubs of their former selves, you'll want to get rid of them eventually. But throwing them in the trash isn't always appropriate, because sometimes you just don't want to spend the money on new ones. Understandable. So why not melt them down, and create new crayons for your littles ones to use? That's exactly what the Crayola Crayon Maker does. Read The Full Story
