Toshiba AT300 Tegra 3 ICS tablet gets official

Toshiba has outed its latest Android tablet, the AT300, a 10.1-inch iPad rival running Ice Cream Sandwich on NVIDIA's quadcore Tegra 3 chipset and promising up to 10hrs runtime. Measuring 8.95mm thick and wrapping its guts in an aluminum shell with a splash of Gorilla Glass up front, the AT300 also has a pair of cameras, with a 2-megapixel front-facer and a 5-megapixel main camera on the back. Toshiba 55XS5 offers 4K north of $9k

Maybe you’re not sold on this whole “OLED” thing. Maybe you think 1080p on a 55-inch screen looks gross. Why not future proof yourself and jump straight to the next big thing? Toshiba will be releasing a 55-inch TV in Japan next month with a 4K resolution, even if the content isn't quite with us yet. It’s not quite top of the line either, lacking 3D capabilities and useing edge-lit LEDs instead of the superior local dimming tech, but hey, it’s 4K. Read The Full Story

Toshiba Excite 13-inch Android tablet hands-on

It's time for Toshiba to bring the fire with a real live working unit of the Excite 13-inch tablet at Pepcom during CTIA 2012. This device is a massive yet thin beast running Android 4.0 ICS and toting a taste for full-screen web browsing without a doubt. It's got Gorilla Glass on the front, aluminum on the back, and is surprisingly light for how massive it appears. The display is 13.3-inches of LCD with 1600 x 900 pixels placed upon it - 16:9 for an ideal media experience - if you love gigantic images right in front of your face, of course! Read The Full Story

Toshiba’s Giant Tablet is a Giant Mistake

Toshiba needs to take its poorly thought-through Excite 13 slate and go home; it’s a tablet travesty. Announced earlier today, the 13.3-inch model is the largest Android tablet from a mainstream OEM to-date, pairing NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 and Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich for what Toshiba claims is an untapped slice of the finger-friendly market. The company has done its research, too, though whether its conclusions make sense is worth a second look.

Toshiba has today announced two new products in their desktop all-in-one range, the 21.5-inch LX815 and 23-inch LX835. Toshiba seem to be trying to pack as much power into their products as possible while trying to hit attractive price points, and looking at what’s on offer, they not doing a bad job at all. Toshiba has launched a new range of Excite Android tablets, spanning 7.7-inches to 13-inches and each running NVIDIA's quadcore Tegra 3 processor. The new Excite 10, Excite 13 and Excite 7.7 slates run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and have a 5-megapixel main camera along with 2-megapixel front cameras; they also offer, in the form of the Excite 13, one of the biggest screen resolutions we've seen so far on an Android tablet, running at 1600 x 900. Toshiba WT301/D corporate tablet pairs stylus with Windows 7

More and more companies seem to be blowing it as they include stylii with their products. HTC dipped their toe in the water with the Flyer, Samsung are doubling down with the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1, and now Toshiba has their own spin on the idea. Fujitsu buys out Toshiba’s share in mobile partnership

Toshiba hasn’t exactly set the world on fire with its smartphones in the past. They briefly had the tech world abuzz in 2009 with its TG01 handset, which featured a then impressive 1Ghz single-core processor and 4-inch 800x480 resistive touchscreen running Windows Mobile 6.1. A new report nutshell released today by Consumer Reports on the new iPad has taken to the wild world of Android to try to find comparable devices for the odd consumer. In addition to listing these, the product researchers at Consumer Reports reminded the public that the heat they found in the 2012 iPad was absolutely nothing to worry about, as it was still well within "who cares" standards for devices such as itself. The Android devices Consumer Reports went through, on the other hand, were reported as simple machines with one defining feature each, each of them good for a unique user situations. This year’s April Fools 2012 Round-up contains some of the strangest notions yet, and as everyone knows at this time of year – some the the most promising concepts for our odd, odd future! Starting with of course Google’s collection of such jokes – they’ve been on point with some of the most in-depth April 1st tricks for several years now, and we wouldn’t want to deprive you of a single one of them. They start with an 8-Bit Google Maps – what else, of course! There’s also Virgin Volcanic, Apple’s patent of the rectangle, and Toshiba’s announcement of several “Shapes” tablets which you can see in a lovely TV commercial below.
