Toshiba have announced two new CULV notebooks in their Satellite ranges, which will go on sale as the Satellite T135 (13.3-inch) and Satellite T115 (11.6-inch) in the US and as the T130 and T110 in the UK.  Both machines use Intel Pentium, Celeron single core or – in the case of the T13x – Celeron dual-core CPUs, with the smaller machines having up to 3GB of DDR3 RAM and 250GB hard-drives while the larger models get up to 4GB of RAM and up to 500GB hard-drives.

In case you missed something this week, it’s time for another week in review for you to enjoy on a lazy Sunday. Asus quietly let the Eee 1201N Ion netbook slip from the bowels of the netbook kingpin. The machine sports NVIDIA Ion power, it’s nice to see more Ion netbooks coming to market. Acer has its line of smartphones coming in Q4 according to reports early this week. The Acer F1 and the HTC Leo will hit in Q4.

Toshiba have announced the Qosmio X500, their 18.4-inch Full HD desktop-replacement notebook packing an Intel Core-i7 2.8GHz processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 250MNV 1GB graphics.  Set to arrive by the end of October, the Qosmio X500 squeezes in a Blu-ray burner, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, twin 500GB 5,400rpm hard-drives and WiFi b/g/n.

SSDs are finding their way into all sorts of gadgets today from netbooks to PMPs and camcorders. The smaller SSD form factors get, the more wide spread their use becomes. Samsung has announced a couple new SSDs that use the latest generation Toshiba 32nm MLC NAND technology.

If there’s one thing we’re crying out for, it’s another netbook connector standard.  Happily the SATA-IO working group have delivered just that in the shape of mini-SATA (or mSATA), a new low-profile connector supporting 1.5Gb/s and 3.0Gb/s transfer rates but with a slightly smaller plug.  To celebrate, Toshiba have outed two new mSATA SSDs, offer 30GB and 62GB capacity

Some of the coolest vehicles to ever roll the highways come from Italy. We have brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini doing Italy proud on four wheels and on two wheels, Italy gives us superbike maker Ducati. We have seen the Ferrari and Lamborghini logos on notebooks before, and now the Ducati logo is making its way to a camcorder.

You may recall that we first laid eyes on a Toshiba dynadock back in 2008. Today, Toshiba has announced a new and updated version of the dynadock called the dynadock wireless U Universal USB docking station. The name is certainly a mouthful, but there are some nice features to be had.

Toshiba makes a full line of hard drives in all sorts of sizes and capacities. The company has announced a new 500GB HDD aimed at laptop users that spins at 7200 rpm. The small HDD uses a 2.5-inch form factor.

Today is packed, with all sorts of things being introduced and announced. Making sure that they aren't left out, and giving us something a little bit different for the announcement train, we've got Toshiba announcing their newest, 1.8-inch HDD, that offer up to 160GB of storage. It's all wrapped up in a remarkably small five-millimeter-high, single-platter design that's designed for next-generation portable media players, digital video cameras, as well as other consumer electronics.

We're sure that Toshiba could announce some more things, but this is getting ridiculous. This time around, we've got a laptop, and one that's sure to attract some onlookers, if for anything else because it's Ducati-branded. Getting a name-brand, on top of the manufacturer's name brand, isn't a new practice, especially for company's hoping they can get an extra buck or two from it. Although, it is nice to see an actual Ducati right next to the laptop. It definitely gives the little piece of tech a more attractive appeal.
